A Fox reporter in NO was asked on air what it was like now in New Orleans. She replied that aside from the horrible stink from sewage the air is full of the mournful cries of cats and dogs dying of thirst, hunger, and injuries as they stand on roof tops and drag themselves along the roadways. They don't know why they have been left to die. So sad.
Please... also give to animal rescue organizations! Thanks.
I think that is why so many people were so touched by the story of Snowball and her little boy. My youngest is 8 and I could see him acting the same way if someone took his Goldie from him. I hope it is true, that they have been reunited.
"I hope it is true, that they have been reunited."
Prayer to that end, PensylvaniaMom.
This is not a thread about those pulled out ot their homes. Many of us have taken part in those, as well. Most of us respect the topic of each thread and stick to it.
I pity you, that your heart is so small. All these people on this thread have room in their hearts AND pocketbooks for humans AND animals. You seem like you are bitter and alone.
Again, I pity you. You have no room in your heart.
those hungery sick animals are going to get to be desperate vicious animals.
I wonder if the owners of the confiscated guns are going to be hurt by these animals.
Funny I didn't see you on those threads?!? The shoe fit and you put it on. You are more concerned about the dog than the people and the Constitution.
Now that is sad.
It will never come to that, because your dog would lay down his life for you.
Pity you don't feel the same way.
Duh! You don't have to post to read a thread!!!
Flame all you want...loser!!
I understand completely!
Your priorities are manifest. You post to a dog thread and are absent from the threads where old women are being jerked out of their houses and put in camps. Oh well - you have to have priorities! We know what yours are.
That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen in my life. Is is real?
In the end a dog is just a dog. They are animals without a human soul and we have dominion over them.
If you'd consider sacrificing your life to save an animal's life that is your choice. There is no nobility in such a sacrifice, only stupidity, IMHO.
First of all, Nov3, I wouldn't say the threads on FR dealing with human evacuees have been bastions of compassion. The amount of bad attitude, racism, negativity and hostility on much of FR in the last week was abyssmal. I argued myself sick in the first couple of days just trying to get people on some of the threads to treat the evacuated people like citizens of this county, let alone human beings.
Maybe you were on the right side in that fight, I don't know. But if you haven't tired of the ugliness of personal attack on this forum, then there's something wrong with your priorities, and your preferred method of entertainment.
I for one am sick of it. If you want to pick fights, there's lots to be had.... out in those other threads you think are so important. If you want to pick fights and bully dog lovers, I think that's pretty wimpy.
I am going to print that picture out and hang it on my front porch. I think that will keep the neighbors cat from using my flower pots for a litter box!
I think we were on the same page there. The total lack of compassion I saw on this site sickened me. If you go over these dog threads you will see many of the people who talked about the people in NO like they were subhuman acting like the dogs are a great tragedy. The dog situation is a tragedy. They don't deserve to die like this. However the contrast in the threads sickens me.
Of course they don't. But I'm sure this is a very sad and grim event. Imagine all the cats and dogs that drowned or were injured.
Really? You can show me that, I'm sure.... I thought your complaint was that all these dog people didn't post at all about the human tragedy. Now you're saying that that dog lovers are the cause of all the racist garbage on the forum?
The dog situation is a tragedy. They don't deserve to die like this. However the contrast in the threads sickens me.
So you attack the people on the threads that are compassionate about the pet situation, rather than attack on the threads that lack compassion. Like I said. Wimpy. If you're tired of fighting on the other threads, I don't blame you, but why take all your agression out on the one place that you find compassion?
Personally, I don't think the difference in tone should surprise you. The pets are helpless and without the political baggage involved in the human tragedy. People are complicated and political. Pets are not. Since I am here on my free time, I spend it how I wish. And since I don't see arguing on a forum as actually ~solving~ anything, I pick the fights I want to have carefully.
Therein lies the problem. It doesn't surprise you.
Wimpy.
Have a good day. Fight with people over whatever issues you choose. There's lots of them. Just don't think for a minute that the amount of time and words you spend fighting with someone on a forum equates to actual ~involvement~ in the issue. It doesn't.
