Public Skeptical New Orleans Will Recover Criticism, but little outrage, for Bush's and federal agencies' response to hurricane

Despite widespread criticism of the response by Bush and, separately, the federal government, to the problems caused by the hurricane, the public seems on balance only mildly critical. Forty-two percent say Bush did a "bad" (18%) or "terrible" (24%) job, but 35% rate his response as either "great" (10%) or "good" (25%).

When asked to identify who was most responsible for the problems in New Orleans after the hurricane, 38% of Americans said no one was really to blame, while 13% cited Bush, 18% the federal agencies, and 25% state and local officials.

How come you IGNORE the fact that Govt Blanco did NOT ask for any Federal Assistance until Wed Aug 31st according to HER, or Until Thur Sept 1st according to FEMA. ALL the Declaration of Emergency does is release Federal Disaster AID money to the State. It does NOT, as the Hysteric Leftist try to lie about it all over the web these days, Give the Feds control of the Local Govt's authority and responsibilities. The Govt of the STATE is still in charge of HOW the resources, particularly the NATIONAL GUARD, are used. FEMA advises the locals, they do not DIRECT the locals.
Please explain to me why the Sun Sept 4 WASHINTON POST (A pillar of DNC propaganda) reported that the President had ASKED to take over control, and Gov Blanco of Louisiana said, and is still saying, NO?
Why TODAY, if the 3rd Responder Feds are to blame and not the 1st Responders (City of NO) and 2ND Responders (State of Louisiana) is the MAYOR of New Orleans issuing order for evacuees to be removed by force if necessary? I thought the Feds were in charge of all this.
How is "This Administration" to blame for what the Gov and the Mayor are IN CHARGE OF?
A couple more questions to answer.
Why despite billions in Fed Homeland Security money pumped into the State of Louisiana and the City of NO to equip 1st Responders are both the City of NO Police and Fire Departments after 9-11 are both so woefully under equipped and staffed and in such lousy morale even BEFORE this disaster?
Why, despite the fact that FEMA tells states and localities that it can take anywhere from 72-96 hours for the Feds to get significant resources to them were both the City and State completely unable to meet even their most basic responsibilities?
For example, despite calling on the City to use City owned buses to evacuate those unable to move themselves out of the City as part of the Disaster Plan posted on the City of NO's OWN website, are all those buses still sitting in the City of NO's lot?
Despite actually planning to respond to EXACTLT this disaster, why did the City of NO and the State of Louisiana not meet even one of THEIR requirements under the plan?
Wonder what happned to the other 21%? They tried really hard to spike the "Neither Good Nor Bad response" since it totally undercut their spin line.

1. Because they have no way of knowing that the city plan was not being put into effect.
2. The convention center had no media until Thursday night and the following day they had both water and food.
3. The problems at the Superdome was not due to lack of food and water, it was due to flooding, sewage, and breakdown of law and order (the NO police were supposed to be in charge of that, and if they did not have enough personnel available, the state police, sheriffs etc.).
What would you have had the feds do? Send in clerks with guns blazing? Have the constitution violated? Ask American soldiers to violate their oath? Have the military enter a building with thousands of innocent people and a few bad guys and risk the lives of the innocents? They aren't trained for that, LEOs are.

So, how about posting some FACTS with regards to that. Also, if an emergency declaration was declared on the 26th (according to the White House) and FEMA takes anywhere from 72 to 96 hours (it takes that long to provide essential support to a disaster? Did it take that long on 9/11?), why is it that nothing was seen on a Federal level until the 2nd? As for the buses, you're damn right they should have been put to use. That could have been another few hundred people rescued or put out of harms way, but nothing in comparison with what a fully coordinated Federal effort could have been capable of. As for the buses, you're damn right they should have been put to use. That could have been another few hundred people rescued or put out of harms way, but nothing in comparison with what a fully coordinated Federal effort could have been capable of. Are you suggesting that thousands couldn't have been saved if a coordinated Federal effort had been put in place in time? Helicopters used wherever possible to lift people out of that insanity? Helicopters used to drop food and water when it was necessary (no, I don't mean yesterday). A military presence in place to keep a semblance of order. Lemme guess, it was too dangerous or difficult for them to get in? The most well trained and efficient military in the world and somehow they weren't able to tread where the intrepid reporters of CNN were? Are you planning on answering these questions or just posing more of your own?

What pissed me off was they were showing the flooded buses and saying why didn't FEMA use them. OMG! Don't tell me their going to get away with that BS!!!!!!!
