It seems that these lefty "artists" have a sixth sense in these situations, opportunistically bashing the president to get a career boost. Maybe that's why Kanye is "the smartest man in pop music."

And using West's logic, it can be argued that "black people don't care about black people." After all, many able-bodied young black men in New Orleans stayed behind, after the evac order, to take advantage of the situation and prey on their fellow black people and attack their rescuers. And it took the white president to send predominantly white forces in to save the black people from these other black people as much as from the natural disaster.

You could say that, using West's logic, but that would be racist, wouldn't it?

Right, Kanye? Right, Jim?

I've posted this thought elsewhere, but the most striking thing to me is that the people criticizing the federal response are the same ones advocating national healthcare

West has a new CD to promote. Ginning up controversy is his way of doing it.

Were it not for this stunt, I'd've never heard of him.

I believe that out of Orleans Parish and the 3 or 4 surrounding parishes only Orleans is majority black the others are majority white. As such I guess that means that President Bush sent all the relief efforts to adjacent counties instead of New Orleans.

Context is required to understand Kanye West's latest outburst -- criticizing President Bush on national TV during telethon

I agree. You have to understand that he's an imbecile.

Don't you know that Black on Black Crime is always the fault of white Republicans?

This man's remarks were disgusting, inaccurate and childish, and in no manner helped the suffering of the people of New Orleans. They were simply a publicity stunt. In a just world he should be stoned, failing that he should be ignored.

Wow, so cueball-head had a real rastafarian message to deliver on SNL. How did I ever miss it?

the smartest man in pop music

I am sure that was a real tight race between him and Britney Spears.

"the Chicago-born rapper's unscripted comments on live TV were no ill-considered outburst -- and they can't be understood divorced from the context of West's work."

Yes. "George Bush hates black people" is too deep for me to understand without a thorough examination of this "artist's" rap music. I must understand the sociological background to this impromptu expression of justifiable anger... blah, blah, blah.

How about: "West is a sub-moron, and makes music that would only appeal to sub-morons." Hmm. Understanding is coming at last...

An excellent, lengthy post that debunks the major lies told by the left about the levees, troop levels needed to respond to the crisis, and the response of the federal government.

The Sun Times seems to have no shortage of columnists as of late that are on crack. We just misunderstood him and took his remarks out of context? What utter stupidity.

In one fell swoop, the rapper and college dropout has earned a place in the front ranks of this country's best-known and most respected African-American activists.

Yep, he is right up there with Jesse Jackson and rest of the African-American activist parasites.

Princeton University professor, theologian, author and activist Dr. Cornel West.

btw Cornel West is the poster child of Ivy League affirmative action wackiness.

This so called "professor" and "theologian" appears on CSPAN periodically. I always run and get my wife and dogs so we can laugh at his antics.

Harvard finally fired this clown and now Princeton took him on as their token psycho.

He thinks rap music is the greatest cultural invention in the history of mankind, and the black man is the source of all wisdom and greatness.

If any of you are Princeton alums please tell the university to fire him or you will cut off your contributions. It worked at Harvard.

"I hate the way they portray us in the media," West said.

Was he speaking for looters or black people?

"Kanye West"

Who the hell is Kanye West, and why does anybody care what he (she?) might have to say?

But those black people looting their own city and shooting at rescue workers trying to save their fellow black people...now THEY care about black people.

I have rarely seen such a brazen display of sheer stupidity as I have seen in the last few days.

And another thing, rap is not pop music. Rap is disco revisited.
