Yes, $2.59 is very cheap. This is my local gas station, Olde Towne Chevron on Jackson Avenue in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The owner said he got tired of seeing people waste so much gas waiting in line so he decided to sell by appointment. He said this is great for his station, because he is now guaranteed to have customers at the station all day long every day, and no one gets mad in line and punches someone else. He said he is going to keep his profit at the same level as before Hurricane Katrina. I told him he is a Great American!
You have landline or cell phone service or both?
I had the same conversation with a BP/Amoco owner here in Woodstock, GA, he had gas at that point at 3.00 and couldn't understand owners who were loading up things just to make more money. I'd encourage anyone reading this to boycott the Shell just off Towne Lake Parkway (going toward downtown Woodstock) who at the same time had Regular at 3.59.
