Chris Dodd on FNS just suggested that O'Connor "hold on" for a while - evidently he believes the Senate can't handle two confirmations at once. Cornyn very politely slapped him around, rhetorically speaking that is...

Yep, Chris Dodd just said on Fox News Sunday O'Connor should stay until at least January '06 because we've got so much on our plate: Iraq, Katrina and maybe a third vacancy on the court.
The Democratic party is once again showing how their drive for power trumps the good of the nation.

I was waiting for that one. The Dems think they can win the next election and replace an older Chief Justice.

Schumer just told George Step that O'Connor should stay as CJ for a year - Bush should ask her The reason why Sandra Day O'Conner is leaving is to take care of her dying husband. So she should just abandon him so that Chuck Schumer doesn't have to lose a political fight? The Dems have no shame, and are grasping at straws.
Anyway, I'm off to Church!
