CNN is replaying quotes by Chertoff & Brown, which confirm my impression from last night - although Brown said on Friday Aug. 26 that this could be a huge disaster, on Wednesday Aug. 31 he was saying we couldn't have foreseen it, and as late as last night Chertoff was saying that the breaks in the levees couldn't have been foreseen.

It was a huge disaster on the front end. It just kept getting bigger and bigger. He was telling the truth.

They have yet to verify that the levees were smashed by grain barges after everyone breathed a sigh of relief. I have heard several comments from Citizens living near where the 200 ft section of the levee was destroyed. They clearly stated that they saw a grain barge smash through to the other side. That is when all the major flooding began. Why in the Heck was the barge not way up river away from vulnerable infrastructure? This State has to replace the entire leadership. It failed every way it counted to save lives and homes.
