He cannot be trusted because he is running for President. I would vote for Voinovich before Newt. Aghhhh, did I say that?

Mo1--in a lot of FR poster's minds, the worst thing would be an impeachment of President Bush

I'm not worried about that

The main reason??

Because then Cheney will because President

The left hates Cheney more then President Bush *L*

Oakwood Mall is on fire. Firemen attempting to put it out were fired on from the Westbank Expressway. Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard ordered the firemen out and will let the Mall burn as a “signal to President Bush.”

Last night, Broussard held a press conference in which he said that apparently the only way to get aid from the US Government was to be a foreign country. So he was seceeding Jefferson Parish from the Union and requesting foreign aid from the neighboring United States.

Anti moonbat Sarcasm Torpedo ARMED. FIRE!!

Apparently Broussard is under federal indictment for bribery or somesuch. I guess he's going for the "sovereign immunity" defense.

In all seriousness, if he did this Bush could IMMEDIATELY declare martial law due to insurrection. :-)

Nagin on CNN right now saying he needs to get his policemen and firemen out of the city and get them physical & mental evaluations, because they just can't take any more.

Anti-Nagin Sarcasm Torpedo ARMED. FIRE!!

Either
1. He's projecting,
or
2. They've told him everything worth taking has already been looted, and they need fresh victims.

Prayers for ALL!

The blindingly liberal reporters are missing out on the story of the century.........Millions of individual Americans giving of their time, energy, and treasure to help their fellow Americans.

I interpreted his comments, assuming he had no c;ue as to what was going on outside of the area. I am not sure that he got much information.

Shep had a clue. He was leaving town every night, as he had freedom to leave and enter the city. The victims who were holed up did not have the same freedom. If they walked to a checkpoint, the authorities dnied them passage. The city was cordoned, in order to control the relocation. Othewise, mayhem and disease would be spreading with much less control.

If his reporting served as a "vent" for those trapped, fine. But it was dishonest to report that the authorities didn't have a clue, or that he didn't have a clue. The authorities knew, and Shep knew what the real situation was.

Edith Clement is from New Orleans and a woman, Tim Russert points out (or recommends) on Meet the Press. If the media or dems even slightly seems to favor a candidate, that candidate is sure to be doomed. Bush has clever people to vet for him to choose a candidate of his ideals.

Fair warning, but Clement has been widely considered elsewhere on Free Republic.

Prayers for all.

How much did James Witt and Wesley Clark get for their non-functioning disaster plan? Were they the authors of that famous phrase in the NO evacuation plan: ask your friends and neighbors for a ride?

Let's publicize the HELL out of this quote, together with a photo of the Nagin Memorial Motor Pool (drowned buses).

And then whisper "let them eat cake."

Prayers !

I heard that also, wait til October they will want to come back South. I hope that they have plenty of warm clothes to hand out up there. I hope that some genius business person will take all this wood from the fallen trees, and find a place to store it because it could be used this winter when the heating oil prices are sky high. That wood could keep people from freezing to death, if they have a fireplace or a wood stove. I could not believe that all those fallen trees in the 4 canes in Fla were just sent to dumps and went to landfills instead of keeping heating bills lower by burning them. End of rant

I think that what is starting to irritate me more than anything...and it started before this hurricane...

Is that these idiot Republicans that just feel the need to get out in front and throw President Bush under the bus...

which then results in the media and dem strategists using THEIR quotes when they debate..

Like now, the are using Vitter's quote of giving the federal response and "F"...and Romney's,...Newts...blech

"Far from over" indeed. THis isn't just a political story. The disater itself still has months to play out, both in human suffering and loss, as well as land recovery and pollution remediation.

Politicizing of this already, by the DEMs and facilitated and egged on by the media, shows how craven and dhallow they are.

Legislation will be introduced to remove FEMA from Dept. of Homeland Security, and have FEMA report to the Pres. via a cabinet level position. Puhleeze, Mr. Dingle, can you PLEASE just shut your da*m pie-hole.

Many republicans are scared about their reelections and they think if the dump on the President it will help them

Voters aren't unhappy with republicans because of the President

It's because they can find their spines and do what the voters elected them to do

The whole Judges thing comes to mind

What you say makes too much sense for those who live their lives day-by-day w/nary a thought about the coming tomorrows. During the weeklong power outage here after Hugo, we burned our stockpiled wood in the fireplace to keep warm and used flashlights to read by.

LOL---the dems in Congress just love to use CHARTS!!!

They have charts for everything...10 charts for a 5 minute speech...

SO, I suggest that all Pres. Bush, or anyone else that is blamed for this needs is a HUGH CHART with the pictures of those drowned buses and that quote in about 10" letters!!!

LOL

Of course none of these dems are going to remember that it was the dems (Lieberman) that was pushing for Homeland Security....and they were BIG players in crafting the department...

AND, I think everyone would have had to acknowledge that the Homeland Security Department would be a "work in progress"..

Oh, what is wrong with me....nothing is ever a dem's fault.

Advice to the President. First thing Tuesday morning send up the name of a great conservative candidate, which you have had ready to go for some time.

Agreed.

Two words.

Recess...appointment.

Two more words.

Robert Bork.

CNN seems to be repeating Nagin's comments every hour or so, in the first quarter of the hour.

Just playing it again right now.
