(Vanity) I've had it with the blind hatred of President Bush (and all who conduct or condone it)

The lights are on but no one is home ....

LOL! Empty suit also fits. And, he is pompous.

Strike three, Julian. You're out.

The liberals haven't had it. They love it. Expect it to go on until let's say, when Bush's presidential term ends.

Hello Fox and Friends,

Hi, NewLand.. you have got the wrong address.

Julian Phillips had absolutely no basis to make that idiotic statement

What statement? Did you see something on TV? How special.

Yes, it's amazing that those voices come out of that box.

'Demon Possessed"---

You have answered your own question---we are living in and witnessing some of the 'last days' of this wicked world---Satan will pull out 'all the stops' to delay the final coming of The Lord---as all Christians well know it will only get worse as things and time progress--keep the faith, lock and load--may God Bless those who recognize the truth in His Word and pray we have the faith to stay the course

I've had a gut full ot it, too. Not one of those Bush bashers could have done any of it one bit better. They can't even handle their own jobs and responsibilities in a mature, fair, and balanced manner.

Who needs them? They are part of the problem which seems to be spiralling out of control of their own doing. We need people who are part of the solution. They know exactly what they're doing. Now it's all about face time on tv and the almighty dollar selling newspapers and magazines I don't even want to read any more because they are simply too negative.

There's no such thing as a perfect president.

The gulf widens. It may be the Gulf that breaks the camel's back. They are doing more harm to our country than the terrorists. They could express their opinion without the vitriol, but I guess people like hate speech better. I thought we were enacting laws against that sort of thing.

Somewhere in the book of Revelation, it says: "That old serpent, the Devil, roameth about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, knowing he hath but a short time."

I'm not a big bible thumper, but I remember most of my Sunday/Sabbath School memory verses!!! (don't ask about my short term memory, however)

I know...it made me angry but made me sad too. I am sorry he took advantage of such a horrid situation. When people do things like he did they only make things worse and make themselves look so terrribly, terribly bad and exposed. I thought he changed and thought he had "grown up" but I was wrong. To him all the naysayers regarding the rescue effort and the enormity of the whole thing I say: "Walk a mile in my shoes...."

These recent statements I'm refering to are not just 'blame game' rhetoric. These are hate filled accusations such as 'Bush hates black people' and 'Bush enjoys "losing" people'...

I disagree - I think it's completly 'blame game' rhetoric, only they've taken it to the next level, by making race an issue, and I think they evoked race, because the stakes are so high, and because, in dollars and in human lives, the cost is so high - no politician in Louisiana wants blood on their hands.

This is all about deflecting poor decisions made by people in and out of New Orleans.

Poor decisions made in staying behind

Poor decisions made in rebuilding and/or staying after the Hurricane of '48, Betsy in '65, Camille in '69, and Georges in '98, when it was quite clear that hurricanes would continue to threaten, indirectly or not, New Orleans.

Poor decisions made in ignoring the US Geoligical Survey.

Last, but not least, the poor decisions being made right now to go ahead and rebuild New Orleans.

What this all will ultimately mean, is that we rebuild New Orleans, because to even suggest otherwise would be to question the decisions made by people in New Orleans, and it will get you labeled as a racist (just ask Speaker of the House Hastert who said the most logical thing a politician has said about New Orleans yet, that maybe it's not such a bright idea to build a city surrounded by water, below sea level, that is threatened by a large a river prone to flooding every now and then, and that is threatened by hurricanes fairly frequently).

I responded to a fellow who dismissed a post I made on a private forum by ignoring the links I put to the Civil Engineering magazine article from 2003 that proved that the levees would have failed, that the "plan" wouldn't have been done if it was fully funded until 2039, that the city had been urged by Bush to call for evacuation because they didn't do it, that their filed plan (which the Feds had to use to plan THEIR response) wasn't followed and the city abandoned over 300 city transit busses and over 500 school busses and then whined about Greyhound (which had 10 busses in NO) to do the city's work - and about 4 other, specific, fact and historical sourced rebuttals to his rants.

This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about - there were so many failures in the decision making process:These are all decisions and failures that occured at the LOCAL level.

President Bush has made some stupid decisions on a national level, there is no doubt about that, but to take stupid decisions made at the local level by local politicians, from the state level on down to ultimately the city level, and try to pin them on the federal government - I'm almost speechless that they can get away with it.

They wouldn't be able to get away with it, if they didn't have the media siding with them, and not questioning their decisions.

I wrote...statements I'm refering to are not just 'blame game' rhetoric

Which meant it includes blame game rhetoric....PLUS all the blind hatred and baseless accusations.

We agree, my friend!

We do agree...The question then becomes what do we do about it.

The answer is nothing, because President Bush immediately said we would rebuild.

There will be another hurricane within (on average), 35 years, and it might not be a near miss, which means 10s of thousands dead, and 100s of billions of dollars of destruction.

It's a cycle that will not stop, and that will cost the taxpayers 100s of billions of dollars, and will cost thousands of people their lives, until some leader in Louisiana is strong enough to rise up and say "enough is enough, how many people have to die before we realize that this isn't a safe place".
