The Last Orthodox Church in Kosovo Might Turn into a Night Club
Focus News Agency ^ | September 1, 2005

Pristina. According to the new public planning the unfinished orthodox church “Christ, The Savior” in Pristina might be turned into a night club, a studio or a museum. The Parliament had reviewed the suggestion for the new reconstruction of the region on July 15. The plan includes the church and the students’ campus, the electronic edition Holy Gates of Christianity (www.dveribg.com) reports.

The Serbian church has not been informed about the initiative and had reacted sharply to it. “The Church has neither intention, nor the right to turn its sites whose foundations have already been dedicated, into night clubs or galleries. Though over 150 churches and monasteries have been destroyed or seriously damaged over the last 6 years, the new attempt at taking away the last Orthodox Church cannot be seen in any other way than as a wish for impeding the life of the Church and wiping out every single trace of the Serbian people and culture in Kosovo and Metohija”, a declaration of the Rasko-Prizren Eparchy reads.

Fine, let all the Orthodox churches turn into night clubs. It seems you'd rather have that than to work side by side with your sisters and brothers in Christ.

Whoa there friend, I am not implying anything of the sort. I want all churches to work together for their common good. Where did all this "not working with my Christian bros" accusation come from? I repeat my point:

During the nineties, a mostly evangelical nation, led by an evangelical president, fought on the side of Albanian Muslims against the Orthodox Serbs.

As a result of that intervention, Serbs are now driven from Kosovo, the cradle of their Orthodox civilization, and hundred and thousand year old churches are being, at best, turned into nightclubs, and at worst burned down.

By any measure that's NOT a good result.

Now, do the Orthodox have an aversion toward evangelicals? I don't know, they might, after all the Russians did not welcome Pope John Paul the 2nd during his long term so they might be averse to interdenominational cooperation. I wish they were not. It might help heal the rifts.

I would appreciate it if you have any links where this aversion toward evangelicals is detailed a bit. I have never heard of it before. Thanks.

What's up w/you & D (@LF)? I'm dense, so spell it out...Croat?

Try to ignore his silly fights and accusations against Destro - he's just barking up the wrong tree again.

It is funny to see him fighting on another forum after he told me on September 1:

no, i'm not wasting anymore time with other forums. People will believe what they want and very rarely change their opinion or mindset = wasteful energy spent.

i have more urgent matters that need addressing as time runs short.

Apparently right after that wrote he signed up at another forum to pester Destro. Quite hypocritical.

joan, many posts what you have put up are outlandish and ridiculous. Asking me details about operations that you have no clearance for or no need to have that info. Your calling for individuals to be assassintated to name a few.

It doesn't matter what you think, "joan". Your donations sent to me from you have been run for fingerprints to determine who you are on here.

He's a joke and there is a semblence of honor to be upheld and I stick to Right v. Wrong. He is an opportunist and I do not like that.

If someone is a strong liability, I will put my foot down. It is not a popular thing to do when others follow someone like you do, joan.

besides, I know who the good and bad ppl are over there. You don't have any concept what I've been trying to say about the entire situation of the Balkans.

Until you know what you are talking about whats happending on the ground versus what you read on the internet, please shut your mouth. Why do you think Destro is gone, gone and more gone from FR?

Try listening to mark502dinf and Hop a little bit more closely. They know more then you. Besides, Mark is very very intimately knowledgeable then you fathom to believe. Same with Dio, but he has a more twisted spin, but he knows the history.

Geez I should have gone PM w/my question, Z. I didn't because IF someone who carried the water for YEARS at FR had a hidden agenda I thought we all should know.

I think you both know my primary interest here is current living conditions around central Bosnia & Kosovo.

Not to speak for Joan, but her posting history indicates she wants lies/failure of security exposed.

Mark was previously involved in Saudi banking, I don't trust him. On the other hand we all take sources where we find them & watch for other indications. Are you telling me he is involved in current affairs?

How does bickering w/(temporary) allies help while 'Terrorist Network Still Lurks in Bosnia Mountains', thousands are still displaced & security/state status is TBD? PM if you prefer, you have an old email so let me know here if you use it.

getgoing, it doesnt matter whether it was private or public. i have nothing to hide that i'm trying not to disclose. it is better to out the nominal/temp "allies" with hidden agendas which can later set up others for failure, blackmail and sorts.
