Some British must still be dreaming of little America as the breakaway colonies and the Empire of which the sun never sets is the centre of the civilization and knows the best. Oh! We British are the best!

That comment is beneath you - as most of your comments are usually thoughtful. There is a little historical anger there which is typical of the modern world. We are all victims eh?

I'll just leave you with this thought though - if it wasn't for little ol' Britain; Hong Kong, USA and New Zealand would either not exist or be radically different.

Although these places are thankfully on their own, who invented their systems and populated the lands? Martians? ;-)

We only tolerated the British in preference to the Communists in China. If history is ideal I would want a free and non-Communist China take over Hong Kong. Just to quote what many Hong Kong Chinese think, "We spend half a year bashing the British, but we spend 365 days a year bashing the Communists."
