The problem is that NO and Louisiana itself is home to some of the most corrupt political figures in this country. Hell, look at Huey Long as one example.

I can sympathize with Nagin insofar as he has to deal with the Governor.
The Democrats have a problem here. They have a Democratic city machine, and a Democratic State machine, both of which are costing lives. Small wonder they're blaming Bush.
I bet a Congressional oversight hearing into Louisiana disaster planning would turn up some interesting stuff.
