Agreed.
The Faith based groups are doing outstanding work, the same groups people mock and ridicule are stepping up and there for these citizens in severe troubles. The same groups the President has worked to strengthen since his Presidency.
God's people for which we're very blessed.
David Shuster on MSNBC was pointing out that folks in a Biloxi shelter had not seen a government official until today....and then quickly added that local church, Red Cross, etc, had been taking care of their needs. Why do these guys act like Government is God; as though private assistance is somehow inferior? Why can't they give some praise to the local folks who saw a need and helped out instead of twiddling their thumbs waiting for Uncle Sam.
Howard Fineman on MSNBC; evidently Newsweek will be coming out with a HUGE hit piece on Bush next week.
He basically said nobody criticized him during 9-11 because we were attacked by a foreign entity, but all bets are off now.
Now he's saying that Bush is basically an open target for all the pent up rage against him now because he's in a political role, not a CIC role during war time.
Now if you will allow me a disclaimer on the above statement: Of course there will be times when the gov't, no matter at what level, should be there to assist its people. My point is that what we Americans tend to forget in times of peace and quiet, is that we are all Americans and we will help each other out no matter what the cost. (remember the San Francisco quake? How many strangers were helping strangers. Again, can I say 911?)
