OK, even if I try to understand the looters' motivation... how do they think they are going to get this stuff out of the city? There will be no water or food left once they evacuate the citizenry. Doubt they let anyone on a bus carrying a plasma TV.
Stash it on the second floor or attic of a "safe house" and come back and get it after the city is reopened for retrieval of belongings in 6-8 weeks.
