To God Bless America, that rant was not directe3d at you, my apology for that.
I really am ready to fight. got to go to work though.
Bush really really dropped this.
Utter failure.
Historic, legacy type, always remarked on forever type failure. Its over for him.
FOX news: hundreds of people sleeping on highway overpass...no food or water...FEMA goal is to totally evac city by Saturday night...plaza outside Superdome packed with people waiting to get out of city.
There is blame to go around - but utter moral breakdown amongst the people is the cause - Americans are a free people, and when we can't take care of ourselves, when we turn on each other in the worst times of crisis - then no one can govern us well.
Looks like you're in the minority in blaming our President for the anarchy in New Orleans.
CBS Poll: 54% Approve, 12% Disapprove of Bush's Handling of Hurricane Katrina

Dang. To think we live in an age where if you can't get instant solid fixes after a major distaster on a scale that we've never had before, it's the president's fault.
Dang. At the best it takes three to four days to get set up to deal with anything this big. But we're geared to instant fixes, so the reality of logistics doesn't count.
Dang. Because the governor of the state is stupid about using authority, it's now a republican failure.
Dang. Go back and look at past catastrophes in the US. But no, the MSM would rather push the country to civil war and use the backs of people who chose poorly and got stuck in a hellhole of city in part because they were afraid if they'd left people would steal their stuff (and with good reason), to do it on.
Just dang.
Number one, sad to say, most Americans aren't paying attention.
Number two, polls show that he has overwhelming approval for his handling of the crisis.
Number three, those that figure the President is not doing all he can, don't understand state versus Federal law, unless he is willing to state that the local and state authorities are not willing to help their own citizens.
Beyond that Posse Comitatus and the Insurrection Act are very clear...the Governor must ask for the President to allow Federal troops to "enforce the law" of LA.

Then the party needs to work hard for instant runoff voting. This would ensure that Hillary doesn't get the presidency if there is a split in the Republican Party. I think everyone agrees that the evil of the liberals getting power is greater than the evil that may exist in a party split.
Thanks for the offer but I prefer to agree to disagree. Not looking to fight this out or debate it. I'm sure someone on FR will though. :)
FEMA and the Corp of Engineers have been warning the state for years and nothing was done or planned by the state (a huge dem nightmare), lets not even discuss how late the state waited to call for an evacuation.
My father (who worked with FEMA because of his work with TVA) told me that NO was a death trap 15 years ago and never let my husband consider a job or move there.
