Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 10:46 a.m. EDT Kerrys Hold Picnic for Santorum Opponent

Pennsylvania Democrats are bringing in some out-of-state muscle to help Bob Casey, Jr., in his bid to unseat Republican Sen. Rick Santorum next year – John Kerry.

The Massachusetts senator will visit the Pittsburgh area on September 24, along with his wife Teresa Heinz Kerry and her son Chris, to host a $1,000-a-plate picnic for state treasurer Casey.

The picnic will be held at Heinz Kerry's Fox Chapel estate, which Kerry used last year as a staging area in his campaign to carry Pennsylvania in the presidential election. He did win the Keystone State.

Santorum's campaign spokesman John Brabender said he isn't surprised Kerry is helping Casey, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. "Bob Casey did ads for John Kerry during the presidential campaign. He's considered one of Kerry's biggest fans. Like John Kerry, he's an expert at flip-flopping on the issues." Brabender said Casey "seems to bounce around" on issues such as abortion.

Santorum is the third-ranking Republican in the Senate and the Democrats' top target in 2006, according to the Tribune-Review.

But could there be a trace of payback in Sen. Kerry's upcoming visit to Pennsylvania?

Santorum created a stir in Kerry's home state when he commented on the sexual abuse scandals in the Catholic Church: "While there's no excuse for this scandal, it is no surprise that Boston, a seat of academic, political and cultural liberalism in America, lies at the center of the storm."

While President Bush battles terrorists and deals with natural disasters, John Kerry battles ants.

New Orleans underwater, John Kerry holds political picnics. I see he is still an absentee landlord in his senatorial seat.

Kerry is partying and scoring political points, while Bush is battling Katrina and al Queda.

Res Ipso Loquitor, as they say in law (the thing speaks for itself).

"Muscle" and "John Kerry" don't belong in the same sentence.

Actually, Kerry did assist the hurricane victims. He was windsailing in the streets of NO, diverting the water back into the Gulf.

Political fund-raiser and we have an entire geographic area so desperate for help, whilst Richie Rich enjoys tea and scones with scumbags.

Attention Pennsylvania: remember the Casey/Kerry priorities.

I figured Santorum to be toast. But if Casey is letting Kerry help him, I think Santorum has got a good chance at winning.

But I thought Casey was "pro life." How can the rabidly pro abortion John and Terayza support him? How come NARAL isnt seeking some pro abort Dem to challenge Casey in a primary? Hmmm, I wonder....

With John (did you know he served in Vietnam)and Teresa (does she actually go to picnic's?) Kerry-Heinz-Heinz to support Casey, Santorum may be able to glide to victory. Sure hope so.

Casey's got name recognition (BTW little else) and seems to be their best crack at unseating Santorum, who is anathema to the baby-aborting, rear-entry-loving, welfare-giving, no-personal-responsibility goons that run the Dem party.
