Ah yes...the "gangstah"/thug culture run wild. Ain't it wonderful? The MSM will surely elevate them to victim/celebrity status. It says something about the society we live in when people gravitate to, and even aspire to be low life criminal scum. These criminals deserve the cesspool they're wading in and living in, and all the suffering that follows. They should have been shot dead yesterday.

@#$k it...what little compassion I had for the criminal/thug element here is gone. It has given me pause about what I should prepare for if a disaster event would take place in or close to an urban area. I'm sitting here wondering where the FReepers are that were OK with looting food and water. Where are the "I'd steal the food to make sure that my children eat" folks? I mean cmon! A hostage situation at a hospital yesterday?...shooting at people trying to provide relief?

Where are those Freepers now? Wake up to freaking reality.

What really worries me is that there will be some of the same element that go with the evac. How long till we start seeing similar scenes in other cities?

You are correct to learn from this. And as I have said in other posts, the same type of element exists in most cities, just waiting for a disaster to bring them out of the woodwork. It's always good to be prepared for disasters, and the varmints who will be roaming the streets and highways afterwards.

Same here. Last night I told my husband that we need to seriously plan for something like this- including getting armed. We have gone to the shooting range and thought about getting guns before, but always put it on the back burner. I think the time has come. I want to have survival bags/equipment and yes, weapons and ammo packed and at the ready. I don't live IN a big city, but close enough to one that if something like this happened, the thugs would probably fan out into this area. When things get desperate enough, even decent people might try coming after you for your car, food, water, whatever you have. Watching this whole scenario unfold is terrifying.

My "pause" turned into moving out of L.A.

In the opening of my video "Boomerang" I called Angelenos "inmates". People thought it was funny, but I was just barely kidding. When/if the ---- hits the fan there, ain't nobody goin' nowhere.

You and me both! They stole guns and some Freeper asked if I wouldn't do the same to protect my family. Give me a break!

Reading Peggy Noonan saying the same thing. This is clearly a difference, and NO ONE was defending scum like this. Strawmen are still strawmen, hurricane or not.
