He send us the rainbow after he flooded the earth ,as a promise to us and then he send his beloved son to forgive us for our sins."
That's the Christian deity I'm familiar with, too, not the one twig writes about. I worry about those who think their deity is just doing what's right with these situations.
I do not have a religious faith, but respect those who do, as long as their faith has to do with decency and neighborliness. All others....I oppose.

I don't like people that take the bible out of context and interpret it to their agenda/cause.
