While things could probably be better, what is happening on the Gulf Coast is not the fault of any elected official.

That simply cannot be. SOMEONE has to be to blame. You can't sue Mother Nature or God.

LOL! Actually I think local officials underestimated what they needed once they thought that NO had dodged the bullet, and also did not anticipate human nature of people left in town. As the FEMA director stated, he would have liked it if they had moved the troops in earlier. I think he was stating that they could not deliver what they were not asked for. Same situation in Mississippi, where looters took much from homes that survived early on. Hindsight might be to move in troops whenever a category four or five storm is approaching to protect homes that have been left by evacuees before and immediately after the storm hits.
