Couldn't we have dropped a few pallets of MREs and water on the freeways where people are stuck?

Fly the stuff in with choppers and use the same choppers to fly some of the people out.
I'm beginning to think that the process is being slowed down by trying to keep things "organized". Perhaps it's time to just have the choppers drop 'em off anywhere outside the disaster area. Just pick a high-school football field in any unaffected community and trust that the people living there will help pitch in to provide relief. Spread the refugees out rather then trying to provide centralized "official" evacuation centers. There's plenty of time to get organized after everybody is safe.

We've just been saying this at the office but that makes sense and this is a Federal operation.

Sometimes red tape can really screw things up.

If they swamp the choppers, then what? I have the feeling a riot is imminent when transportation gets there.

"Fly the stuff in with choppers and use the same choppers to fly some of the people out."

Um... They've been doing that since late Tuesday.

The media isn't providing a full picture.

I was thinking the same thing. At least they would have some shade and could spread out a little instead of being forced to live in their own feces. From what the aerial photos show it is dry just a few miles out. Maybe it is not so easy but I think I would just start walking instead of waiting any longer.
