President Bush: "We are dealing with one of the worst national disasters in our nation's history." Push has appropriated vast federal resources to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
78,000 people are currently in shelters. New Orleans evacuation continues. 10,000 additional National Guard troops have been called to service.
Hospitals are running low on supplies, and public health concerns include water borne disease, poor sanitation, food and drinking water contamination and shortages, mosquitoes, carbon monixide poisoning from electricity generators, lack of childcare, and the special needs of the elderly.

Well apparently (according to the MSM) it is all Bush's Fault.
Touro Hospital has water
Nope. I got to see him once at the college I taught at. Was irritating then, too.
An armed policeman guards a truck loaded with fuel from potential looters in the hurricane-ravaged city of New Orleans.
Yep they need prayer
The NAMB is always the first on the ground its the local church cooperative idea.
Pray Pray Pray

You would only be irritated at him if he was one of yours.
I love when Jessie speaks for the libs!
". Am I the only one who gets irritated when he sticks his nose into every situation?"
Yep. The rest of us all can't get enough of the guy.
"No Limo Available for Jesse Jackson Transport"
First news report I've smiled about all day!

Heart wrenching photos.
The message was at 4:00pm eastern from the president of the NAMB to Trustees and others of importance in the NAMB.
I'll let yall know more as I find out.
Per WDSU: Oakwood Mall in Jefferson parrish is burning out of control. It is in the west bank area where it is relatively dry. Not enough water pressure to fight the fire, says Chief.
So is a limo the only vehicle he can ride in? If he tried to get into New Orleans, would they let him? I was under the impression they had the roads in blocked.
My Dad served in WWII and hated the Red Cross. He said they charged for everything they "gave" to the GI'S. He wasn't alone. He refused to give them a dime. After 9/11, they used donated money to buy new computers and office furniture. Their President makes $500,000 a year. I give to the Salvation Army. My Dad said they were the ones who gave to him. If you'll notice behind Shepard Smith and the others you'll see Salvation Army Vans serving food and drink to the refugees on the bridge. They managed to get there. Where is the Red Cross? In Baton Rouge, the Red Cross bought the food, but the Southern Baptist Churches are cooking and serving it. BTW, Clinton said that the European Union has offered to send us gasoline. They'll probably send us 5 gallons by UPS.
I don't see any problems in that pic. The water in the flooded tank farms is contained in the retention ponds that are designed to contain any product leak from the tanks. There's no sign whatsoever of leaks. ie.irridescent sheens.
The facility itself was shutdown and prepared for the storm beforehand. That equipment is quite able to handle the storm. Note the tanks are full and appear untouched also.
As far as I know, Chevron has not reported that this refinery has incurred significant damage.
Correction from John Avants wife, the messsage went out.
so i will rely on tv no update
Well, slap me silly! I should have known Jesse would know the "tooth"!
