Although CNN is CREAMING FOX and MSNBC and the worthless CBS,NBC,ABC networks....Jack Cafferty just took a major cheap shot on-air with Wolf Blitzer.
He asked Wolf "Where is President Bush? Is he still on vacation during this disaster?" Wolf answered him and said he returns to D.C. tomorrow.
Cafferty said " Ahhh that's nice of him to come back to work in the middle of a national tragedy...and leave his month long vacation"
Wolf said zero in response. This was the ultimate in cheap shots because anyone with a brain knows that Bush can't go there right now. The Secret Service could not protect him and there is zip he can do personally being there as chaos and rescue operations are going on.
He has organized one of the biggest domestic relief operations with the pentagon in history.
What more does Cafferty want? Asswipe...
I can't believe I actually caught that snide interchange. I probably haven't watched CNN for more than 5 minutes in the last 10 years, but Fox had Jesse Jackson on, so I thought I'd see if CNN had any flood pictures. The sarcasm in the announcer's voice was really unmistakably rude. What do these people think--that everyone listening hates Bush like they do? Do they think we're all going to nod our heads and echo their contempt for the President of our country? After that 30 seconds, I will NEVER tune in to CNN again. I wouldn't care if it were the only station left standing after a nuclear war. NEVER AGAIN.
Who the hell is Jack Cafferty and why should I or anyone care what he thinks?
Although CNN is CREAMING FOX and MSNBC and the worthless CBS,NBC,ABC networks....Jack Cafferty just took a major cheap shot on-air with Wolf Blitzer.
Since when is CNN creaming Fox by the way?
ditto. I STILL don't know who he is. I must lead a sheltered life.
Agree.
Gee, he is involved in the biggest tragedy in years and all he can think of is "where is the President".
Sure shows his stupidity, pettiness, and general tackiness. As if anyone cares where the president is when they are drowning.
As if a president is ever on vacation. Apparently he does not listen to the news. Bush has been speaking at many places. That is not usually a vacation activity.
Just who does he think makes decisions when Bush is on vacation? Who gets the national security threat report? Who makes the call on emergencies. President of the U.S., George W. Bush - on vacation or not.
Wish they would require education to be a news head.
I never watch CNN but just tuned in for a minute to see how their coverage was on Katrina and was so disgusted listening to this J------es comments regarding President Bush...not a mention on calling the area a disaster before Katrina hit so the gov could get a jump on the problems. He's so pathetic, it's not even worth sending him an email...perhaps others have.
I think we have enough of us who had no idea of who he is to start a club. Who wants to be president?
"I must lead a sheltered life."
I consider a life sheltered from the dumb remarks of the likes of this Cafferty clown to be a truly blessed one indeed. Consider yourself fortunate.
LOL!

"Who the hell is Jack Cafferty Club"
I'll be in charge of club entertainment and we will start with Cafferty bobble-head dolls.
I haven't watched CNN in so long it took a short while to remember who Wolf was.LOL
Maybe the reason he caught on is because he fit in with the other deluded twits.
I guess Jack*** expects the President to parachute in since all the airports are closed. I'm sure the Secret Service could check out all the refugees and workers at the Super Dome so the Pres. could come visit. And the LEOs could stop guarding the shops from looters and protect the Presidential motorcade instead. Jack*** must miss those pictures of Clintoon biting that lower lip at every tragic photo op. What a crabby lefty loon Cafferty is...a real embarrassment to an embarrassing network.
Like most journalists, CNN morning anchor Jack Cafferty would prefer to cover news than make it. Especially when it's bad news.
But Tuesday, a stunned Cafferty was greeted by photographers as he went into a midtown Manhattan court to plead guilty in connection with a hit and run accident.
According to the criminal complaint, Cafferty was driving a Cadillac with a New Jersey Press license plate on Ninth Avenue near 42nd Street May 14th when he allegedly made an abrupt turn and hit bicyclist Billy Maldonado.
About five people tried to stop Cafferty by running after the car, waving their arms and yelling, "Hey Stop," according to the complaint, but the newsman allegedly continued through at least two red lights, while dragging the bicycle underneath the vehicle.

Cafferty said "As a category 4 hurricane was hitting, the President was sitting in Arizona talking about Japan"
I think it is stephanie miller (one of the women on Air America) who said she thinks Bush should at least PRETEND to care by flying a helicopter over the area.
Of course, she wouldn't think that taking a valuable helicopter which could be used for rescue operations would be a problem.
Cafferty must have missed the part where Bush said the folks in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama need our help.
I completely agree.
And I haven't watched CNN for years......my daughter told me to turn them on. All was OK until I heard that Cafferty remark.
I turned off CNN and put on the radio.....
Cafferty is one of those guys who's every word drips with cynicism, no matter what he's talking about. He used to be neutrally cynical, now he only goes after Republicans. He makes those potshots all the time, Wolf typically ignores them not knowing how to respond without violating his ethics as a journalist.
Since Herbert Hoover was in charge of European relief in the aftermath of WWI and began many of the Depression era programs that actually worked for FDR when he was in and Hoover was out, Public Relations, of the compassionate sort, has always been a Republican weakness. One can shrug it off and tell the media and America to stuff it, but I consider PR to be part of a presidents job and a duty that he and his administration owe to those who voted for him. It is proper that the president stays "out of the way", but he should not be considered to be "in hiding". "W", for better or worse, has some big PR problems and it will effect elections in '06 and '08, whether any of us like it or not. It's a fact of political life and its what made Ronald Reagan so popular and effective.
Yup, I sent them an email right away, telling them to fire the turd. What a real clymer. CNN is doing great coverage of the hurricane, only to have it ruined by the stupid comments of that idiot.
