Well that deals with surge failure, not later failure, which is what happened to the main bowl, and fails to deal with the elevation of Lake Ponchatrian, and just why the water is 3-4 feet above sea level and supposedly according to a CNN reporter supposed to rise another 5 feet. I find it totally and utterly baffling.

The water in the Lake has to flow out and it takes time.
During that time, there is storm surge and rainfall flowing INTO the Lake from most other directions.
Currently the inflow exceeds the outflow.
I think they have trouble with the Mississippi River and not telling the whole truth. Otherwise it makes no sense.
Somehow the river is flooding the city, I don't know how but that is the only other significant amount of water available.
