RDTF---I believe I was the first one to question the 9 inches as being news worthy....but, the reason I did, was because I make a worse mistake earlier in the thread, by posting that Fox had reported 9 FEET in French Quarter, when it was really 9 INCHES...
I guess I was kind of embarrassed about reporting the wrong amount...so I questioned the validity of the news ALERT status on Fox...
SO...long story...It is all MY fault fellow freepers, now flame me but don't flame others that are repeating MY STUPID REMARKS--OKAY?
Shep was just saying 9 inches THIS MORNING. But the water has been rising fast all day so who knows how many inches now? Water is up to everyone's waists at the Superdome or it was. The thing is, according to Shep, that the water is still rising. :-( So incredibly sad!!!
No problems on that mistake, hope no one took it that way. And completely understandable to question why they are making a big deal out of such a small amount of water when whole houses are under water in other areas. Fox wasn't putting that alert in perspective.

No worries. No flames over here. News is coming in FAST, FURIOUS & All bad - and there is little to no way to verify a lot of it without hard sources (links, papers, etc.)
