Who is protecting the money in the Casinos? Are the owners bringing in some body to guard it?
KALB has switched to an MSNBC feed and they showed an aerial photo of a Mississippi casino (named the President?) that actually dropped on top of a Holiday Inn! I imagine it would be difficult to get at the vaults under those circumstances.
CNN: Has a producer on Canal Street in NO and is reporting hundreds and hundreds of people are looting that street.
Hubby and I had lunch with a gent yesterday who is somehow connected to some of the Biloxi casinos. He stated the money was armor trucked out prior to the hurricane's arrival.
The only news aired locally on the Las Vegas based casinos impacted by Katrina refer to losses the casinos would have per day...makes me sick. On a lighter note, the Harrah's owned casinos will continue to pay employees while they are closed. Still too early for them to make damage assessments, of course. I just pray for the people...
