Apparently New Orleans has open treatment tanks, so the snakes might be less of a problem than other considerations.

Every time I see pictures of people walking in flood waters I cringe. If someone has to go out in them to move to higher ground that is one thing. But if they are just walking around they are being very foolish. They are walking in sewage. yep E. Coli out the ying yang. I wonder if public health officials are going to discuss the possibility of epidemics.
