He has a point. Blaming Clinton, and Bush 1, and Reagan for not tightening up the borders is correct, but W is the President at this time, has been for 5 years, 4 years since 9/11, and he has refused to take action.

Just maybe Pat thought that the REPUBLICAN Congress would have rid us of Bubba for many other felonies. We see how elites are handled in the "Two-Party Cartel".

you are on a buchanan thread, and shoot the messenger is the standard response, regardless of what he is saying, unfortunately.

Welcome to the new FR.

There's lots of blame to go around.

Bush has been part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Most of the Senate has been a large part of the problem for a long time.

Buchanan is an idiot for resorting to this kind of rhetoric.

Illegal immigration is a serious issue, and to solve it we need to address it with serious plans, not a bunch of political hyperbole.

100% correct, doc. Terrorists and open borders don't mix, the illegal alien invasion goes against what Americans want, and all of this creates a BIG lack of confidence in our "leadership".

NO MORE VOTES FOR OPEN BORDERS POLITICIANS!

It is unfair to include Ronald Reagan in that bunch.
True, his 1986 legislation did include a ONE TIME offer of amnesty.
But it also beefed up border security and contained penalties for businesses that hired illegals.
It was Papa Bush who reneged on this deal and backstabbed us by loosening the controls and opening the floodgates in 1990.
Klinton and Bush II are both guilty of being intentionally derelict in their responsibilities in this matter.

I agree; Buchanan is right on this one. Bush was elected to serve, not rule, and he is clearly at odds with both his electorate and the population. He should either enforce immigration law or resign.

Why is he not calling on the Judiciary Committee .Are they not in charge of Immigration?Where is Spector on this matter or whoever is in charge in Congress. In fact where are the Senators from the besieged states?
Buchanan has been trying to impeach Bush for at least a year now.Ever time I put on Hardball there he is bad mouthing Bush. Now he will be out in force since Sheehan was not able in Pat`s words to "tip the scale against the war"I think he has a hatred against the entire Bush family. He has never said a good word about them all the way back to Bush 41.Buchanan and McCain should finally admit they are not Republicans and move on to the left .

Exactly. It's amazing that, 5 years into his presidency, Bushbots still refuse to hold him accountable for ANYthing, preferring to blame Clintax for all our problems, while Bush continues to ignore our borders.

You're absolutely correct! There is no excuse now. W is failing to act.

Exactly.

Pat, of course, is right. We need to stop the illegal immigration. And the American people agree. 85% of the country is in favor of stopping ILLEGAL immigration.

Funny how many "open borders" types are on FR. When did it become conservative to support foriegn invasion and contempt for the rule of law?
