Arrest May Indicate Balkans-Al Qaeda Link

PRISTINA, Serbia-Montenegro — Abdelmajid Bouchar, a 22-year-old Moroccan, sought for involvement in last year's train bombings in the Spanish capital Madrid, that killed nearly 200 people, was caught at the Belgrade railway station in June.

The arrest, revealed earlier this month, revived concerns that the Balkans — with its porous borders, unsophisticated security systems, rampant corruption and organized crime — could serve as a haven for Al Qaeda-linked terrorist groups.

Local officials and experts have long warned that the Balkans at least is a major transit route for the terrorists, as well as for organized crime, including human and drug trafficking. They said the two often go hand in hand.

The Serbs tried to warn the west, but nobody listened.

The west reaps what it sows, an islamic terror state, established by Blair and Clinton.

Sure someone listened so Clinton decided to silence them by bombing them. Afterall, he had to protect his legacy by not opposing the terrorists at the expense of everyone else.

Compare the success of the Serbian "unsophisticated security systems" with the blunders of the Blairite "sophisticated" systems, which for 8 years allowed the UK to serve (quite openly) as haven for jihadi preachers and terrorists, leading to the bombing deaths of dozens of innocent Britons and the incredibly stupid killing of an innocent Brazilian.

the incredibly stupid killing of an innocent Brazilian.

It's easy to judge from afar, ain't it? If I were the cops, I'd have likely killed the Brazilian, too. Because he didn't listen and kept struggling. Tragic, but...

And if he had been a bomber, you'd be criticizing them for not killing him.

Taliban Leader Said Killed in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - The U.S.-led coalition and Afghan forces have killed a suspected Taliban commander and three of his fighters in the country's south, while six other rebels died in a clash with Afghan police, officials said Monday.

Payenda Mohammed, who was thought to have led about 150 rebels, was killed in a fierce battle in Kandahar province on Wednesday, said U.S. military spokesman Col. James Yonts. He was believed responsible for numerous rocket attacks, ambushes and other guerrilla-style assaults.

At least three other militants were killed and 15 wounded in the fighting, in which A-10 warplanes and attack helicopters bombed caves along a ridge where the militants had sought shelter and had stashed weapons, Yonts said Monday. No Afghan or coalition troops were wounded...

So you're saying he did stop when told to halt, and did cease to struggle once the officers were on top of him?

and the victim did not seem to be aware of them until they were on top of him.

You're right, that is different from what I've heard. I'll keep my eyes posted for the investigation results. Doesn't change my opinion about all the keyboard critics, though.

There has been a link for the last 10 years. We should know that when Bin Laden picked up his Bosnian passport years ago.
