Um, they're estimating 30,000 people there already. 15,000 MREs means everybody gets half a meal, once. That's 2500 cases of MREs (12 meals to a case) per meal for a 30K crowd. Hope they have plenty of CH-47s to continously slingload meals in for a week or more, because chances are they won't be able to deliver that many by truck fast enough.

Someone else may have said this (I'm catching up...) but I heard them say (either MSNBC or FNC) they had 360,000 MREs from the National Guard. I forget the number of cots they quoted.
