Sunny and warm in South-central Alabama with a rising breeze. It feels
really nice. I can see a line of high clouds to the South. It's the outer bands of the storm. I was just out mowing the lawn. I have about five acres of grass to cut and my garden tractor with the 50" belly mower is broke. I'm mowing with the 21' Sears push mower. Well, there's nothing like exercise!
Anyway--just in case--brought the generator and chain saw up to the house and am going out to fill the gas cans at $2.49/gal. Better than $3.50 after the storm.

This thread's an excellent idea- I see a lot of names I know in lifacs #169. This storm is going to be a real nail-biter... we're fine on the Georgia coast, I wish I could say the same for all those in harm's way. God have mercy.

Checking in from BR. Got no damage, just been without power until today. Helping with shelters, am very tired, and appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. It is as bad as we all imagined. Just got my internet service back up and am trying to catch up on pings.
