I confess d/n spend a lot of time on that website but was unable to find a copy of that evac. plan/map. If it was there it was not immediately obvious. Would it not be a practical thing to make this map available for printout on line as well as in these stores? The store idea is excellent but who wants to go to a store when you are trying to get out of town?
After listening to Gov. Blanco, twice today, I can understand why the state might have some difficulty in preparation for a disaster such as Katrina could be. Comments such as "this will be a positive experience for all of us" from the first presser of the day caused me to wonder if she is unaware of what may happen. "Let's all be polite" was another comment--IMO in her previous life she must have been Miss Manners!

Could this be an object lesson as to how Liberials handle a real crisis? Remember the Dems who said they sat in their offices, for what 45 minutes, after the planes hit the Pentagon unable to move. God help New Orleans and God help the USA.

After listening to Gov. Blanco... IMO in her previous life she must have been Miss Manners!Maybe not too far off <g> Gov. Blanco is a member of the same national college sorority as Washington's Gov. Christine Gregoire.
No kidding. You'll have to scroll down the page to find them, but according to her bio there, Gov. Blanco is a former HS business teacher.
<banging head on desk and crawling away in shame because I happen to be member of the same sorority... aaaarrrrgghhh>
