Rally Eve has arrived, and things are really looking good for the event in Crawford tomorrow. An awful lot of preparation has gone into trying to make this event very worthwhile and well run.
Some of us will be at the rally site by 9AM. If others are coming early, you are invited to come on by our rally site, and lend a hand in last minute preparations. Whatever time you come, use lots of sunscreen, bring a good supply of water, and wear a sun hat , The weather is predicted to be well over 100 degrees, with high humidity. There will be big fans set up to at least stir the air a bit, but be prepared to be hot. It is, after all, August in Texas.
Once again, here is where to find us: We will be at the Community Center, which is next to the Crawford High School football stadium, on East 4th Street. Freepers and friends who are already on site will be placing directional signs around Crawford, guiding folks to our site. Of course, there's always the possibility that these signs will be removed or destroyed by the other side--but we are trying to make it easy for everyone to find our event.
At this point, we have no idea how many will show up, of course. I've seen all sorts of estimates---but from experience, I know these estimates are always hugely overblown. However many show up is how many we will have is my best estimate--LOL!
We have an excellent lineup of speakers--most of whom are family of active duty service men and women in the Middle East now, and we have at least one man who will speak, who did at least one tour in Iraq himself, but who, sadly, buried his twin brother in June--the victim of a gun battle between US Forces and the terrorists.
A group of firemen will be cooking and serving Barbequed brisket and sausage on the grounds. We are asking for a freewill donation to cover the firemen's cost when you get your barbeque.
Angelwood has provided us with some of her wonderful Freeper buttons to pass around, and freeper W04 (I can't remember all of his name--will look it up and add it later), has sent some excellent, very large banners that we hope to be able to put across the front of the stage.
Kristinn has been in Crawford since Wednesday, making all the important arrangements for procurring all things necessary for putting on a rally of this magnitude. Doctor Raoul will once again be joining us.
Hope to meet and greet a whole lot of Freepers tomorrow!
EAGLES UP!
The hippie leftists shower?
Now THAT is news!
If you are unable to go to Crawford on Saturday, please fly your American Flag to support the troops, our President and those taveling to Crawford!
AAARRRGGGHHHH!
Houston FR ping.
Good for you taking a stand, and best wishes on a full recovery. Drink plenty of fluids and sit in the shade and rest.
Bump!
Very good idea!
Now, I think this would be soooo cool. Dubya coming out and meeting with the supporters...but it isn't by any means needed or DEMANDED as it is by Cindy.
God speed, everyone. Looks like Kristen Taylor is finally getting some media attention for FreeRepublic too:

Well actually they will be way out on Prairy Chapel road and will be able to ignore or at least pretend to ignore the rally in town all together. Maybe we'll make the news a little bit or maybe the attendance will be massive and THAT will make a dent.
Wish I could be there, but we're steadfastly there in spirit.
FReepers rock!
Howdy Basil and all. Checking in from Dallas. We're now resting from our second all night drive in a row. Hope to be all rested up and ready for the big Freep tomorrow. The trip has been great so far!
Are you going to be at the KLIF event at Dick's Last Resort this afternoon?
The road running East from town out to the site will get very crowded very fast. One can get to the same location by turning East at the main intersection in town and going a bit East ... over the river ... and then turning back West at the Y intersection.
Someone on another thread suggested bringing garbage bags so that we will leave our rally point clean.
I just met a young lady in town who saw my posters, flags, etc. in the truck and asked if I was going to the support troop rally. Seems she just got back from Iraq 2 months ago and got tears in her eyes and kept saying thank you and God bless you over and over. We were both about bawling trying to out-thank each other. She added that she would like some pictures of the rally to send to some of her friends still over there. Wish I could bring her with me but she has to work tomorrow.
Hi basil,
Maybe this may be of use to some if they can get them blown up. Cindy said that she never used a casket and it was just some extremists on the fringe during the San Fran vigil who did that. This can be a reminder, scroll down:

Your banners,
W04Man, WoooooHooooo, applause, applause, outstanding and wonderful.
Thanks so much
I saw that witch Laura Costas on H & C last night, and SHE vehemently denied that Code Pink ever used empty caskets in their protests....
But, she was so obviously a liar, I just laughed at her.
