It's sad. It really is the beginning of the end. Once this RFID thing takes off in England, it's only a matter of time. I would never put one of these thingds in my dog. Dogs first,humans next!

Unfortunately your vote and mine are cancelled out by morons. That's why when my mom is one day late with her skyhigh property taxes, they send a letter threatening to sell her house out from under her. Today I paid $155 for not having a copy of a car registration and all I could say was the government is even better than the mob.

Everything you say is true only to the extent that we elect representatives who establish those rules in the name of their constituents. An elected majority can also change every one of those rules you espouse. If you like the rules the way they are, take another sip of that gubmint Koolaid.

Darned few. Do I like it; No! But let's answer the question honestly and straight-forward. Outside your home and on public property, I may video-tape you (with or without your consent), I may follow you, I may engage you in conversation. I may NOT assault you, but as the left has (and a few conservatives have fought in court for) insisted that they may blare a bull-horn in your face, flash lights in your face, and actively impede your way. (Some of these "Right's" were 'won' at Abortion Clinics; BTW) Anything you say in public is fair game; so I can record your reactions to anything I may do. In public, you have virtually no rights; especially if you are considered to be a 'celebrity'. If you are caught doing something you "shouldn't" be doing in public, and someone films you; well there is a vast internet market for those movies. And no, you have no right for compensation.

Do you think (insert your celebrity here) gets sick of having the paparazi blocking his way, even ramming their car at an intersection, just to get a reaction shot, evertime they steps outside?

What one may NOT do, is use your image for commercial gain without your consent (unless you are considered a public figure - then you have even fewer rights). For example, if you are in public, you have surrendered any pretence of a right to privacy. I may photograph you at the beach, at a park, or in your car. However, whether you are a fine athletic specimen, normal, skinny or obese; I may NOT use your photograph or likeness as an advertizement for (suntan lotion, weight watchers, Gold's Gym, plastic surgery, lasik, ect, ect, ect) without your permission.

Do I like this state of affairs? Heck NO. But, they are what they are.

Since you choose to think otherwise, it is up to you to show where a particular authority is granted to government by the Constitution and is not simply and wrongfully assumed by it.

Glad you suggested that. Let's consider this

establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare - Pretty much an open license to enforce laws, go after criminals, and track commerce in any way they see fit. The goal is specific; bear in mind that your argument is the SAME argument used when license plates were first presented. Back then, you could have your choice of Fords in any color you wanted; as long as it was Black. The ONLY thing that is changing, is the manner in which this information is collected. The information is there, it's being tracked manually now; this simply automates the same process.

And, lest we forget; people howled with frustration about security cameras going up in public places. "Oh, someone may actually SEE me!" What is wrong with these people, do they think they are invisible if not for a camera lens? Guess what, If you are in public .... everyone can see you! Now the British nabbed some Islamic vermin using these same hated cameras. Now those cameras aren't so hated any more, are they? Because I believe even you will concede that those cameras saved uncounted lives. If not for those cameras, those Islamic animals would STILL be blowing up busses of innocent people. The cameras CAUGHT the scum in the act; or would you push for thier release because they were caught using an automated mechanism instead of having a policeman watch them blow up innocents?

Simply stated, you can't have it both ways. You want to be protected, you want your children and property to be protected; well, automation never sleeps, gets tired or takes a sick day. Manual methods work, but very haphazaardly. Consider that the girl from Idaho was NOT caught by the police force who had been doing a nation wide searchf or 8 weeks, but by an alert waitress.

You have made a despicable and false accusation.

Please elaborate. I merely suggested some means (backed up with a link to a story that was actively posted on FR) that illustrated where similar technology SAVED a 14 year old girl who was kidnapped out of her bedroom.

In Great Britian, people whined about those darned 'invasive' and 'Big Brother' cameras watching public areas. Now that the Islamic bombers have been caught, those cameras aren't quite so evil anymore. Do you think that those Islamid fanatics would be caught if not for those camera? The Police had NO witnesses, no clues ... nothing for 2 days; until the camera's footage was analyzed.

A car company TODAY offers a product called LoJack which allows the police to track a car. If your car is stolen, you activate your LoJack either by pressing a hidden button, calling in and reporting your car, or using a panic button on a fob; and your car tells the police where it is. The RFID can provide security for EVERYONE, not just the one's who can afford the additional security.
