I don't see a problem with this, if you don't like it you can walk or take the bus.

Whine, whine, whine...

Why can't we find the sniper faster?...

Some punk stole my car; and I want it back NOW....

I saw a 'Drive-By', it happened just 2 minutes aqo; but I didn't get the plates ...

The AMBER Alert system isn't finding abducted children fast enough ...

Now we have a wireless system that can filter traffic and find the criminals, and people whine about how their rights are being impacted. You do not have the right to drive, you never have had that right, nor are you likely to see the Constitution ammended to get it added to the Bill of Rights. Do you really believe anyone gives an 'expletive' about where you drove today? Get over it, you aren't that important. Meanwhile, we have the means of stopping criminals quickly ... and people are more interested in how thier perceived 'rights' are impacted.

Your indifference to being tagged like cattle isn't shared. Mooove along.

It's the *trend* which many find disturbing.

Because we had no clue who he was. Your desire to electronically tag everyone wouldn't change that.

Some punk stole my car; and I want it back NOW....

Get a better alarm. Preferably one that disables the ignition. I don't expect the police to keep my car from being stolen, nor do I think thieves wouldn't be smart enough to use another plate until they were done joyriding or had the vehicle to the shop to strip. Try again.

I saw a 'Drive-By', it happened just 2 minutes aqo; but I didn't get the plates ...

So you want plate readers every 300 feet? What if the drive by steals your plate to commit the crime? Maybe they just rob a convience store. Want to prove you were really in bed at 2am when the cops say your RFID tag was leaving your house and going to the store?

And you aren't that bright.

Meanwhile, we have the means of stopping criminals quickly ... and people are more interested in how thier perceived 'rights' are impacted.

Bull. The UK is going to use this to raise revenue. It's a taxing device, watch...

Well gee, if YOU don't see a problem I guess everything is just swell. Thanks!

they are tagging thier property, Licence Plates are they proptery of the state not yours. You cattle analogy makes it sound like they are tagging people which they are not.

In a sense, they are. Take this scenario into consideration. You loan your car to someone who commits a traffic violation picked up by the RFID. Who do you think is going to get the ticket in the mail?

Try reading your Constitution...

For your ridiculously naive statements, you may find an answer. To me, you are showing your ignorance!

I'm avoiding it like the plague. I'm replacing my own water pump and timing belt on my 1991 Lebaron convertible between trips to freerepublic.

I've decided to make 'em last as long as possible...

Yes it will bring a little safety. However, Ben Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential liberty for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.":

If I were a Gazelle, I would choose the freedom and danger of the savanna over the comfort and safety of a zoo.

In a society where one needs a car to survive, they are tagging people.

Don't kid yourself.

You're right, there is no correlation between individuals, the license plates the government assigns them, and their proximity in travel. I don't know what I was thinking.

Baaaah. Baaaaah.
