You seem to forget the yes/no question you asked to start this discussion. Let me remind you what it was, it came from your post #12 "Btw, would it have been wrong for the Pope to have called for the execution of Adolf Hitler in 1940?". Perhaps now you recall asking that pesky (and incredibly speculative) yes/no question?

When that question was answered in post #21, you dismissed it as "sheer conjecture" in post #36. Any of this ringing a bell for you? Our discussion began with my post #261.

It's really quite easy to follow a conversation amidst all the other stuff going on in a thread by clicking the [to post number] link (to go backwards) or the view replies link to go forward. You should perhaps try it sometime.

Going the "balloons and lollipop" route only makes you appear silly.

Lol, for me??

Yes.

But only because the Vatican would then have been destroyed by 1941."

Now my response:

" Sheer conjecture that the Vatican would have been destroyed by 1941. (italics implied)

Remember -- the Italians were 95% Catholic, as were many Germans and other Europeans."

Somebody needs a crash course in context and reading comprehension....

Treat yourself to a grape lollipop this time, sonny, and be careful. You're pissin' against the wind.
