I do wish the CIA would do its job in general. No comment on this matter, however.

WHOOPS!!!!! This is a blooper the size of Godzilla. Pat Robertson really put his foot in his mouth on this one. Hugo Chavez is a horrible leader, but for a man of the cloth to be calling for an assassination is way off base.

"More damage to the cause of Christ."Robertson is referring to Evil being destroyed.
Btw, would it have been wrong for the Pope to have called for the execution of Adolf Hitler in 1940?

It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with. It needed saying.

I take it that unlike Liberia there's no diamond mines in Venezuela

I'm not sure that Pat Robertson should be saying it, but I'll say it. The CIA under George Tenet screwed up BIG TIME when they failed to move at the time of the coup. Assassination wasn't necessary then, just a decisive move to support the coup and get Chavez out of there. Now it may be the only way to prevent big, big trouble throughout Latin America. Do we really need more revolutionary violence and state-sponsored poverty and oppression?

We have the Monroe Doctrine..."We did, Pat, up until president Kennedy threw it away over the Cuban missle crisis.

This is an absolutely rediculous idea. A US assisination of Chavez would be the absolute best thing to spread his brand of leftism across Latin America. Chavez would be a martyr and someone else from his leftist party would take control, with more popular support.

I don't see this as damaging to Christianity at all. Chavez is an enemy of Christ.

We don't actually have to assassinate him...just bribe a few Venezuelan generals to do it for us. It's just war by another means....and Chavez has it coming.

Read the Old Testament. God told the Isrealites to wipe out whole cites, women and children alike, in order to keep evil from spreading. We would do well to follow his lead instead of long drawn out wars.

Funny thing is the DUmmies were just commenting today what a great leader Chavez is. A great man of the people like Castro. The only people that hate him are the rich and powerful. I think I'll stick with Pat on this one.
