(Reverse Time Order — More Recent Entries Toward Top)

6:45 p.m.

Gene Ellis reporting for The Iconoclast

Regarding the condition of Cindy Sheehan's mother, there is guarded optimism. At this point, it seems that the stroke may not be as serious as was feared. Cindy is hoping to return on Sunday, but nothing is definite.

PEGGY WOLF OF DALLAS, sister of the founder of the Peace House, John Wolf, served food to the 200+ supporters in the new tent that has been erected at Camp #2. She stated that the food was available due to generous donations from supporters. Cindy wanted to make sure the protestors were taken care of. — Iconoclast Photo By Gene Ellis

FRIDAY, AUG. 19 was the first day the new tent was available to provide shade for Cindy Sheehan supporters. A meal was provided for supporters as well as entertainment on the newly built stage. Dr. Rev. Joe Lowery (who had worked with Dr. Martin Luther King) spoke at the rally. He encouraged the supporters to keep up their peaceful protest. — Iconoclast Photo By Gene Ellis

The original Camp Casey is not going to be dismantled. The Vets and certain other supporters are planning to remain in that location. Families, especially families with children will spend much of their time at the new camp that is in a field rather than in a ditch. Much emotion has been invested in the first Camp Casey, and many do not want to leave. A support group has been established there, and the same is expected to happen at the new camp.

Camp coordinator Ann Wright said, regarding the new location, "President Bush can't leave his ranch without passing one of the camps on the way out." Wright was in the military for 29 years and in the Foreign Service for another 16.

There are still unconfirmed rumors of the Sunday arrival of Joan Baez and other well-known actors and performers both tonight and Sunday. These celebrities who will be entertaining the Sheehan supporters do not want publicity, are giving their time to show their support and are there in solidarity. The general public is not encouraged to attend the entertainment portion of the weekend's events. It is believed that Steve Earl will perform tonight and possibly James McMurtry, either tonight or at some time on Sunday.

People are continuing to arrive at Camp Casey 2, where a large tent has been erected.

This reporter just finished conducting an interview with Ken Gordon, majority leader for the Colorado Senate.

Camp Casey coordinators reported that last night there were 63 cars and 63 tents parked in the ditch at the old campground. Currently at Camp Casey 2 there are about 250 people under or near the big tent, there is guitar music in the background, and it is fairly hot at the site.

Wow, looks like they are getting ahead of themselves a little bit. These people are sick

I'm still trying to figure out this one ...

It's proabably supposed to be Ghandi-esque. I'm always fascinated that the left can worship Ghandi's peaceful-resistance methods and simultaneously excuse terrorist's suicide-bombing of innocent civilians on the grounds that "it's the only weapon available to them, it's the only way they have to resist."

I really don't think Ghandi would be okay with suicide bombs and roadside bombs as a strategy to obtain peace. (Not to mention Ghandi would have been in Saddam's shredder in ten minutes flat if he'd gone against him instead of an essentially-civilized British Empire.)

Well since there is no draft, and she's 2, I think she's safe from the 'neocon Zionist Halliburtonb Cabal". As for being a potential Ismalofascist target, that's n entirely different issue.

I see that the Mississippi contingent of moonbats is represented. Not at all surprised that they're connected to Ole Miss, that second-rate college that dares to call itself a university! Go Dawgs!

Ann, meet Marine One. You might be in for a surprise if you're waiting to see Bush pass by.

>>Chicken? probably chicken-shaped TOFU, or some other hippie-vegan gourmet delight.<<

DELIGHT?!! Did you forget the {/sarcasm} tag? Have you ever sampled any of that excrement? Tofurkey?! Even the John Madden "TurDuckken" seems appetizing by comparison. In their haste to be kind and compassionate to the sweet innocent helpless animals, they have apparently neglected the fact that feeding that $hiite to people is cruelty to human beings.

I'm sure I read it in part of the U.N. Declaration on Human Rights, somewhere...like, just after the right of UN troops to rape 12 year old girls in exchange for canned milk...?

>>And where exactly do the "food servers" wash up after using a "Port-O-San"?<<

Do you have to ask? I didn't...

>>I mean, they're not using slit trenches, are they?<<

Think about it {Taking a deep breath before the sardonic plunge...} Ummm, ONLY the 'wimmyn', F.D. - only the wimmyn!

>>One final note: a Spinning wheel!?<<

Well, of course, silly! Didn't you read the caption? The spinner herself said it recalled a more peaceful time in India, long ago...

I'm just guessing that peaceful time must have been in-between the conquests of Alexander the Great, and the unbridled murdering, raping, and repression of the Indian peoples, and the pillaging and desecration of Hindu, Sikh, and Buddhist temples by the - Boy Scouts? - no wait, it was the Arab Islamists...

Until they finally left India peacefully of their own accord - ooops, wait, they didn't do that either.

D*mn Arab Islamists...they just never leave a party - or a country - unless they're forcibly evicted!

{/sarcasm x 2}

Good point!

I don't see a whole lot of DIVERSITY out dere!

You don't suppose that, in addition to being an anti-Semite, the forlorn Cindy is also RACIST?
