The events referred to as "strokes" are also, and more accurately, referred to as "cardio vascular accidents" (CVA). Technically they are an interruption of blood flow to the brain, for whatever reason. There are many causes of CVAs, including heart attacks, blood clots and anuerisms. The latter two make up the majority of events referred to as "strokes" as stand alone events. Either the blood flow is blocked in some way or it is cut off by a rupture of the blood vessels.
In either event the brain suffers damage, starting roughtly 2 minutes after the interruption of oxygen.
I drove an ambulance for several years way back when, and my 84 year old mother just died of such an event on June 5th.
I'll miss her.
I heard a Fox radio news break a few minutes ago and that idiot Dari Alexander said that the doctors said he had a TIA...which a person can have a bunch of.. presaging a stroke...
BTW...He felt light-headed on Monday or Tuesday..and just found out today..which goes right along with what I said about Cindy Sheehan being back in 24-48 hours after finding out her mother had a stroke...
it ususally takes days to even find out the extent of a stroke..
Thank you for clarifying that further.
So sorry to hear about your mother. Prayers for you and your family. Take care.
