I second that...all that you said. Well done!
Okay [calm] - Got a nice cuppa green tea and have to request assist:
I got the whole 'guess who, Jossy' thing and the rival editor...can someone please 'splain to me what the video stuff is about?
Joran's dad is suing NBC or CBS for filming the Rita interview? Or have I mixed the facts? Has anyone seen it? Can someone find and post it?
I'm glad you're teaching your sons to keep chivalry alive. However, my concern is that even they would not be safe in Aruba. There have been at least three missing Americans in the past 5 years or so. Vanished on the beach.
Whether or not they were gentlemen. :o(
Where have you been?
MSNBC reporter, Michelle Kosinski, got an interview with the KIA warden. This warden took her on a tour of the prison and who do you think she ran into...none other than Aruba's infamous Dutch playboy...Joran Van Der Sloot...in his skivvies no less. Well, she asked him a couple of questions and he answered them (nothing important) while the camera was rolling. Everyone knew the camera was rolling. Joran's lwayer had a hissy fit and there was an emergency court session to block MSNBC from showing the video.
Supposedly the warden is being suspended, the Aruban judge said MSNBC could not show the video, MSNBC is showing the video without the footage of Joran, they are considering their options on showing that piece. There was a small demostration in front of the justice biulding in Aruba last night. They are upset with American media...again.
It's a circus...I'm just waiting for a couple of clowns on unicycles to ride by juggling bowling pins.
"Where have you been?" Nothing in TX but us tumbleweeds!
"It's a circus...I'm just waiting for a couple of clowns on unicycles to ride by juggling bowling pins."
ROTFLMAO! Ain't it the truth! Arubans are something else.
I googled around this morning and have discovered that the so-called Arawaks are extinct! The ones who call themselves locals are really Caribs, who are known for their aggressive behavior.
Happy, laid-back island? For the druggies, mebbe...
Oh yeah...I forgot...word is Poppa Sloot is suing NBC. (More American dollars to line the pockets of the Dutch in Aruba) Don't know which court will hear such a case, but if Poppa Sloot can sue NBC for taking a pic of his son surely Nat's family can sue the Sloots for Joran's role in the disappearance their daughter.
just another whack-the-pinata show, LOL
nuttin hunny :)
"Happy, laid-back island? For the druggies, mebbe..."
Well, it is a DUTCH protectorate...

"Well, it is a DUTCH protectorate..."
Well, then, shouldn't they be getting high on CHOCOLATE?
ROTFLMAO!
http://www.scaredmonkeys.net/viewtopic.php?t=737&start=58 Lousey still shots of sloot. Don't know if they've been posted yet.
Well they could, but why should they. Most drugs are legal in Holland.
Shoot, I thought EVERYTHING was legal there! And I heard Denmark and Sweden are ewwwwwww on just about every level.
Aruban jails have a reputation among human rights groups. So now the warden is on record mixing up the situation with a Dutch victim of poor treatment. (I'm fairly certain it's not the Dutch who have traditionally suffered behind bars.)
Roughed up? What's a prisoner to do? How about showing some respect and cooperation? There's more to jail than milk and cookies, doncha know?
I just think if the case is botched there are many factors that go into it. We shouldn't get confused between the Aruba system and the US system. When people post about BHT exercising her freedom of speech they are referring to a right we have in the US under our Constitution. Aruba's system is governed by the Dutch Constitution and its interpretation of freedom of speech.
I don't know in the long run if anything would be different if the family had acted differently, but I do think no good comes from offending the Dutch system. They have, for better or worse, less open-ness in their court system. I think the authorities are offended by the family's constant media coverage.
The media doesn't care about the outcome of the case, they just care about ratings and making it as senstational as possible. I think they have duped the family into thinking it is helping.
here is an opinion though.......there is only so much emotion out there in the public and the MSM knows this and goes with only certain stories at certain intervals.....
what else would explain the fact that there are so many missing women, some of them pregnant, who are being completely ignored by the MSM....
truthfully, I am tired of the Aruba story......wish they would find her so we can move in other directions.....but somehow, the resolution to this seems unobtainable....Natalee and her mom seem to have a strong hold on us .... and maybe the fact that we are truely watching a farce of an investigation is part of the pull......
Hoping and praying that they find Julie though....hope and pray that she is alright......
"We shouldn't get confused..."
I'm not confused.
"...but I do think no good comes from offending the Dutch system."
No good comes from offending the American sensibilities with foolish lies like "she'll turn up in a crack house", "she ran away", or as was stated by a NOW well known reporter from Aruba Today "DID SHE NOT ASK FOR IT?". You can play footsy with these people all you want, but I am neither confused or ignorant.
Do you REALLY think the Dutch/Arubans care about Natalee either? If you do...stop drinking their kool-aid. The Dutch/Arubans care about their tourism industry....money. Just like many accuse the press of.
Freedom of Speech...I applaud Beth Twitty for introducing that concept to the Aruban people. They may not like it now...but one day when something really bad happens to one of their own, and it will, they will remember Beth Twitty.
You will not change my core beliefs with posts of this nature. I'm sure I will not change yours either. So you keep right on playing footsy with people who could care less about you and yours and the rest of us will continue to speak out on an injustice to an American family in any way we possibly can.
I agree that most of the officials do not really care about Natalee as a person--or if some of them do they certainly care less for her than they do for the economy of the island or whatever other personal factors are affected by the case.
I don't fault the parents because I know they are caught up emotionally in a horrifying situation. And while I hold the media responsible for the manipulation of the family, I guess they (even Greta van Susteren and Nancy Grace) care less about Natalee than they do about the ratings bonanza they are garnering.
Maybe the family needs a PR person, somebody who is not emotionally involved and who also does not care about ratings and is only concerned about steps that will further the resolution.
