Let me apologize for jumping the gun too quickly. I can't, in good conscience, leave this site on a sour note.

My post was in reference to what "her own community thinks."

From an insider's view, let me tell you first hand what her community thinks. Natalee's community only hopes for a peaceful resolution, one way or the other.

This fact is evidenced by yellow ribbons on over 75% of the residents' mailboxes, by the various fundraisers that have been organized, not because the "family requested help" but because we are all so desparate and hurting for this family and that's all we know how to do, by the small baskets you see in the checkout lines at the grocery stores and gift shops and florists and dry cleaners that all have magnets or bracelets or key chains or cross necklaces made or donated by locals who want to do something to help the family, when you see the postman wearing his "Hope for Natalee" bracelet or seeing 7 and 8 year old kids wearing 10 of the bracelets. It's when you go to a PTA meeting tonight, like I did, at the school where Beth teaches, and the principal gives you an extra hug because she is sad for the Holloway/Twitty family.

And what I saw the other day about brought me to my knees - 5 or 6 kids who set up a lemonade stand to raise money to "bring Natalee home".

It's when you hear a 5 year old saying "did you know Natalee is lost?" and when my 85 year old grandmother wants me to take her to buy a yellow ribbon for her apartment.

This community's view is one of the most miraculous and astounding events I have ever witnessed. If I am ever so unfortunate as to be in Beth's situation, this is certainly where I would want to be.

This community supports Natalee's family no matter what.

Thanks for posting that. Great job by KKM. Glad to see that it got posted at SM. I think they need a reminder from time to time.

TPS - That's just lovely, such caring is such a delicacy, so rare it seems, at times.

I actually was not joking about the daterape club. I think it's very real. The nasty little secret no one wants the world to know because drugs are involved.

KKM did a good job, I agree. You know what is most interesting to me, FRiends . . . that KKM and worldJOURNIER, etc.—the people with some kind of ties to the family—think that there is some kind of "daterape club" too . . . (see worldJOURNIER posts here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1466595/posts?page=1291#1291)

RE: Gardener - going against the grain here, but what the heck.
Has anyone thought that maybe he was lying about what he saw that night? It makes more sense to crack today w/ everyone grilling him if he orginally fabricated the story.
Now, the bigger question would be why would he want to come forward to pin this on those 3 boys unless "somebody else" needed the suspicion (sp?) to stay on Joran, et. al. and who would that person be? Sounds like maybe the gardener was paid to come forward w/ his version of that night's events.
There's one person on that island that continues to come up w/ witnesses, stories, leads, etc. Have any of these ever amounted to anything???

I have just been of the opinion all along that he handed Natalee over to somebody, thus what he is saying could possibly be true about leaving her there. Unfortunately though, I do believe that some unpleasantries went on prior to that point.

OOPS - want to clarify my post. Embarassed I do not in any way, shape or form think Natalee ran away. I think Joran may be telling the truth though about leaving her on the beach. With whom did he leave her though is the part I think he is forgetting to mention.

I think it makes all the sense in the world; isn't there someone else Joran could be more afraid of pointing the finger at than Deepak? Why couldn't what Bondia said have a ring of truth to it?
Of course, he left her at the beach. Now we just need to find out who he left her with????

TPS - It does always seem to come back to a ciminal's lies being some variation of the truth, doncha think?

Thank you for the lovely rendition of snoopy at the keys.

Defending Natalee Holloway Coverage
http://www.scaredmonkeys.com/?p=1453
by Scared Monkeys

The SoCal Law Blog has a nice piece on the defense of the coverage of the Natalee Holloway story. They discuss Greta Van Susteren defending her coverage of missing teen Natalee Holloway.

Here is the plain truth: We have a missing persons problem — a giant one. The problem includes adults and children. It is here in the United States and overseas. We can either help or spend our time acting holier than thou (”I would never do such a story… I prefer to do high brow stories” Like what? Character assassination of Judge Roberts for sport? I have seen those swipes at him. He is not my first choice, but he is an able man with a distinguished legal career and yet people want to rip him apart — including checking out his kids’ adoption papers! It does not get much dirtier than that! )

Having actually been to Aruba to help the Holloway and Twitty families and dealing with the emotional aspect I would concur. There has been a rash of missing persons cases with children, teens and adults. Maybe the focus should be on these important topics ? What really is more important than the safety of our loved ones?

Please note that I am trying to get to the bottom of the purpose of why such a ridiculous and irresponsible statement was made last night by Tito. It pretty much has been confirmed that it was him.

Please know that I in no way think Natalee or the MB teens are or ever were perfect or acted that way in Aruba. I certainly did not when I was a teen. I think Monkeys can see thru much of that and focus on the real issue, a missing girl. That being said ... making a comment that she asked for it was one of the most irresponsible comments I have ever seen in this Forum.

I wonder what Fox News & Greta would have done with Tito if he mouthed those words on their air? Which begs the question ... if this is what Arubans think then why doesn't he say it on Fox?

I would like to think that Tito would understand that his words have affects on this subject matter. There is a responsibility that comes with the territory.

Hello Vn_survivor_67-68, I actually have never posted over there. I just do (what do you war heroes call it?) reconnaissance (is that right?). Good post, though.

Maybe our FRiends post over there? Pinging to Vn_survivor_67-68's request . . .

I don't know, truthluva, but it was very rude. Right now they are throwing him under the bus at SM.

Throwing Tito under the bus? Trapenburg was the one who stood there and discounted everything Jossy was saying! I don't get it.

something is off with the whole kalpoe connection.....their name is kalpoe.....mommas name is ramirez but she and the boyz appear to be indo/paki ethnically.....and I remember noticing when Greta interviewed her hubby his name was yet another name.....then we heard the boyz were "raised by granma in Suriname......Suriname has little tourist industry compared to aruba....and a big reputation for trafficing in humans......kalpoes stepdaddy is well off as a "businessman", but we know nothing of the "business".....momma kalpoe worked as a waitress in a restaurant.....but hubby is "well off".....waitresses natueally size up a lot of tourists......momma kalpoe strikes me as less than honest every time I've seen her.....she looks like a mamasan.....joran seems like he could be easily led while believing he is leading, esp when drunk......he seems totally immature, while the kalpoe boyz do not.....there might be a drift here, but I can't really tell

obviously, I am wondering if mama kalpoe is a procurement agent in aruba from Suriname......it would require someone like joran to carve and snatch.....he would need to be "led" as I described, and best without his full knowledge......an agents "sons" near jorans age that lead him into illicit episodes that serve his raging hormones is a good way to do it.....maybe joran is only a convenient chump participant?

Fascinating theory. However, what about the fact that many girls appear to have been "used" and then left by Joran? Also, he seems to be known to have a sadistic streak.
