Just on Fox & Friends the "newsreader" who is subbing for Steve Deucy said that the Pentagon has today released a statement denying that any military intelligence unit had identified Atta prior to 9/11.
Nothing from other sources. Nothing on Google News search.

There were 2.4 terabytes worth of dataThat really isn't as much as it seems. Mundane direct marketing databases are much larger than that.

I'm not giving up on anything. I want the truth and it's fairly obvious, based upon Shaffer's own comments, that he wasn't close enough to Able Danger to backup what's been said. His comments about Atta are now attributed to the comments/testimony of others, not his own personal experience.
Yes, I am very cautious when we get a guy who comes out of the woodwork with explosive, yet uncorroborated, information of something so spectacular it could cause major damage.
The left has been burned by relying on folks from their side without all the information. There's something to be learned from their failures.

PENTAGON DENIES IT ID'D ATTA
By NILES LATHEM Post Correspondent
August 19, 2005 -- WASHINGTON The military brass hit back at an Army intelligence officer yesterday, saying a probe has found nothing to back up his claims that an intelligence unit had discovered the presence of 9/11 mastermind Mohamed Atta in the United States before the attacks.
The Pentagon has spent several days investigating sensational charges from Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer. He says officials in charge of a now-defunct program code-named Able Danger were blocked by military lawyers from alerting the FBI to Atta in 2000.
"We are continuing to dig into this information that the lieutenant colonel has provided. But we are not finding information that substantiates his allegations," a military official briefed on the preliminary findings of the probe told The Post.
-snip-
Other sources familiar with the investigation told The Post that the probe so far has confirmed that Able Danger did produce a chart of terror suspects in the United States, and military lawyers blocked efforts to notify the FBI.

"Go back and look at all the info that was coming out withing hours of the attacks, not just the pics. We had a lot more than just pics of these guys."
Absolutely! Not only where those bastards identified, they were identified as being with al Qaeda shortly after the 9/11 attack.
Remember how the left wing mediots and lefties in Congress made fun of the al Qaeda connection until the Ben Laden tape came out with Ben Laden and his Jihadist thugs laughing and bragging about 9/11.

Patience my a**. The Clintonistas are back at their refined and expert tactics of intimidation, paper-shredding combined with death threats. There's nothing to suggest any of this is going anywhere.

Well, if this goes no where then it probably means both parties have something to hide. I still think it's too early to know.

No problem. I think it's important to read the last couple paragraphs of that story to see what's really going on.

I don't remember anyone 'making fun' of the AQ connection to 9/11. What I remember is that pretty much everyone acknowledge right away that it was AQ.
Who was 'making fun' of the AQ connection?

I believe that Shaffer said that the Navy officer who spoke with the commission still had his notes. They're waiting for him to be cleared to speak to the media. I would also like to hear from the woman who developed the methodology and came to Shaffer right after 9/11, saying 'we had this guy'. Both Weldon and Shaffer have said she is brilliant. I hope she is able to speak up soon.
