Just on Fox & Friends the "newsreader" who is subbing for Steve Deucy said that the Pentagon has today released a statement denying that any military intelligence unit had identified Atta prior to 9/11.
Nothing from other sources. Nothing on Google News search.

I do, in fact, have my pants on.
Are these the documents in Bergers shorts?
You said it!! But a crisis we have indeed.
LTC Shaffer is either a brave patriot or an shameless opportunist. I haven't decided which, although it could be both (Ollie North comes to mind). However, it is almost unheard of for military officers to go public with classified information under ANY circumstances. This raises a red flag in my mind about his motives. One could use the argument that "its in the public interest"--but realize thats the same one Ellsburg used with the Pentagon Papers. And who is to decide what is in the public interest or not--this is not the responsibility of the rank and file. It just doesn't wash.
8 Central.
I'll be listening for you.
Raleign Nwes and Observer is now saying that the LT Col only remembers what he's talking about from HIS MEMORIES and the MEMORIES of others.
I thought that is how we all think back to the PAST.
Guess I've been WRONG all these years.
It's the "...you can't prove it..." line of defense. Doesn't mean anyone is innocent, only that "you can't prove it."
So what?
With respect, I'd still be dang mad about what was done in my name as a US citizen even if it wasn't done on my watch. That attitude would imply that the only reason to give an expletive-deleted if is you'd done it or had been accused of doing it. It was done, darn it, and every US citizen worth the description should give a hang.
That's all that's left since the commission refused to make transcripts...
Even Shaffer is starting to backtrack. Looks like John Podheretz is right and is owed an apology by a bunch here on FR.
Patience.

Pentagon Probing Able Danger Lawyers
The Pubbies on that commission agreed to no transcripts. For patience I'd have to have trust. And that's in short supply at the moment.
I also presume, perhaps incorrectly, that whatever database they use has a search function.
Me too. I'd love to see a Lamberth type judge reject the BS plea deal...
There were 2.4 terabytes worth of data. Wonder where it ended up.
It also depends whether the database is still online, or even backed up.
lower level clinton holdovers?
Who is LEAKING the whispers?
Does gorlick have girlfriends in the pentagon?
This is politics of personal destruction.
Well, they must have had copies of the stuff. Col. Shaffer said something about handing over 2 briefcase-sized containers of data, which was a small pertentage of the total. But I don't recall hearing if that was on paper or in disc form.
Do you always give up so easily?
Remember, the left always lies. And the media always covers for them.
Let's wait a while before running up the white flag.
Go Tony!
