Shaffer Provides New Information on Hannity and Colmes - Thursday
Hannity and Colmes | 08-18-05 | mercy

Posted on 08/18/2005 6:43:48 PM PDT by mercy

Tonight Shaffer, with his usual concise and direct style, gave us new tidbits to ponder.

In response to Hannity's question regarding how and why the infomation was not passed along Shaffer offered, "A two star general repremanded him in his strenuous insistance that the information regarding Atta and three others should be passed to the FBI. He was blocked and blocked completly by this two star who went so far as to upbraid him and remind him he was a general and Shaffer was not. "

This is one more significan blow to the criminal actions of the 9/11 CYA commission and perhaps a certain general. I can't wait till his name comes out. Perhaps he is no longer in the chain of command as sure he would still be working to block this coming out.

Although it didn't get much notice on FR earlier today information from Shaffer stated that the Bush Administration had known about these revelations since two weeks after 9/11. Very nearly four years. evidently they chose to let sleeping dogs lie. Probably part of Bush's 'New Tone in Washington' plan.

Thinking of that Jack Ryan metaphor I suddenly thought of another colonel a lot like Shaffer we all know.

Oliver North.

No need to draw any pictures.

Each member of the Commission was selected by a party without the means of a veto from the other party as far as I understand. If Bush had objected to any RAT the RATmedia would have been screaming that he was undermining its "independence" and he would have handed it another means of attacking him for trying to prevent the truth from being known. If there were a real media not part of the RAT propaganda machine Gorelick would never have been allowed on the Commission anymore than Kissinger was.

As it stands Freepers and others immediately started complaining about this and we made it clear that the Commission was undermined from within and had no credibility. Now these revelations just support our outrage and allow us to say "We told you so."

That is a lie and you clearly are clueless as regards what the RATmedia will do. Bush in no way is "letting sleeping dogs lie" as it is not his job to go after this but OURS. Should he try and do something to distortions the media would throw out would make it appear as though he was trying to hide his own guilt.

Bush understands that timing is everything and that to prematurely expose something like this means that it not only goes nowhere but would actually be used to harm the exposer.

Yes. About the only interruptions in the Search for Natalie were the breathless reporting on the noble, marvelous, brave, beautiful Cindy. (Feel free to add your own superlatives.)

RATmedia exists ONLY to obscure the treachery of the RATs and trumpet lies about the GOP.

Most people understand how the Commission was set up and therefore understand that the RATmedia would sabotage any attempts by the GOP to remove RAT appointed members.

This outrage cannot be put at the feet of the GOP but ENTIRELY at those of the RATs.

Good morning.
"Nobody on FR however wants to talk about why the Bush administration accepted this outrage of Gorelick on the Commision."

I will. I've got a few minutes to spare.

The Administration had the WOT and the economy to manage. They didn't need the disruption battling over the 9/11 Commission would create.

Circumstances are changing though, and exposing the clinton posse's crimes now would refresh the righteous anger the country feels over 9/11, weaken the antiwar movement and damage DemocRATS in the run up to the elections.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

Not knowing the details of how the deal went down to formulate the commission, I'll defer to your account. But why the deal in the first place?

I just can't get past the Bush Admin's reluctance to be transparent with America about what the Clintons really did to us. They knew about Able Danger within weeks of 911. They probably know a lot more that hasn't surfaced yet, some of which may never come to light due to Sandy Berger's paper underwear fetish.

It didn't have to come out in a highly charged political, accusatory way. Simply declassifying things and letting the chips fall, would have been enough. Then, in light of all the shortcomings, fixing the problems instead of all this Homeland Security, smoke and mirrors.

It's really much easier than playing political snakecharmer games. It doesn't add up.

See my post 172. I question the creation of the Omission Commission in the first place.

We needed a cleanup operation, not a coverup opportunity for the enemy domestic.

Good morning.
"...Merrill McPeak."

I had forgotten about him. What a swine. Whoever the general is, you may be sure he is a clintonista.

No it adds up perfectly well. Since any statement from Bush will be attacked by the Anti-American media he cannot directly attack Clinton. Nor will simple declassification do much since that same media is supposed to be the source of information and analysis but it does not do any of that unless it can be used to damage Bush or to glorify ClintonRATs. How much time has been spent on CBS/NBC/ABC/CNN on the recent revelation that the State Department warned Clinton about the terror danger without him doing a damn thing? How many condemnations of his destruction of National Security have YOU seen?

Think about Pavada and its role in suppression of the truth and the spread of lies and you will be close to understanding the currect RATmedia we are cursed with.

Bush was not in favor of the Commission being established in the first place and only after months of browbeating by the RATmedia did he consent to its creation. Thus, he knew very well what it would be used for and that he could say little or nothing about it because of the RAT propaganda machine's distortions of his views.

However, WE knew as well and let our Senators and representatives know that Gorelick would be used to sabotage its effectiveness at getting to the Clintonian orgins of the plot. While we did not succeed in getting her off we made it clear that her presence undermined its credibility and now that this has broken any residual of credibility is GONE for good. The coverup not only did NOT work but now the RAT treachery is even more exposed.

I half agree. I think the MSM is given more credit than they deserve. Maybe I'm just a blog geek, or too much of a Freeper, but I don't have all the fear of journalists that politicians seem to have. If I were a politician, I wouldn't even talk to them, just go directly to the new media.

I'm still waiting for the day when those silly daily WH press briefings are called off.
