What's more, keeping people alive at the taxpayers expenses means more good jobs in the prison industry.
I don't think any lawyer anywhere could make any kind of case for letting this bloke out.
Also, the relatives of the victims said he should rot in a deep pit. This prison regime sounds like the closest they can do.
I agree. I think those century long sentences were meant to signal, to those in charge in years to come, no possibility of parole. He's one clear case for the death penalty. And he's a danger to those around him, inmate and guard. Inmates will want to do him in, but he won't go down easily, he's already playing mind games with the court per the article. He's a very dangerous sociopath bent on evil and he thinks he's got the upper hand, regardless of those around him.
I agree. He is a dangerous sociopath and evil. He is a danger to all around him. He's 'playing' everyone around him, even now.

He is a sociopath and it seems he feels as though he's still playing the game, and he's winning, in that he was caught because he wanted to be caught.

Let's hope he's headed for maximum security for the safety of those around him, inmates and guards. He's still playing the game, just a new playing field. He makes Gacy and Bundy seem almost normal.
Moriarty reports that Rader may never be able to speak directly to the public again. The District Attorney has asked that he not even be allowed a pen or pencil in prison.
Let's hope this comes to pass. He is a clear cut case in support of the death penalty. He seems poised, per his comments, to start manipulating those around him in his new home.

If I where a victim's family member I would track him down and KILL him! I don't think there would be a jury in this country that would convict me of his death.
Given the costs involved in the endless appeals for death row inmates in this country it's been proven that it is more cost effective to lock someone up for life than it is to execute him. In my opinion, the only possible benefit to execution is if the family of the victim gains some closure in having the life of the person who took their loved one's life ended as well. Other than that, I'd just as soon lock them up in a tiny cell and let them rot for decades to come.

There wasn't a trial so there will be no appeal. Rader pled out to all the murders. I don't know what he was hoping to gain by doing that, but whatever it was it didn't work. He received the longest punishment that the judge was allowed to hand down.
Multiple life sentences mock the victims who had their one and only life stolen.
I know he deserves worse than death but he should be tried by the laws during the crime. Otherwise the government could make new laws and you could be tried for something that was legal at the time.

I'm actually hoping that he is either in max security/ solitary with well informed guards or that he meets the shiv. He is just that dangerous. I think he enjoyed, in his sick, twisted freak, sociopath way, the comments of the victims and survivors. It's a game to him, he was caught, at least in his mind, because he wanted it, and he's still clearly enjoying the game. I hope the prison is ready for him. He's playing everyone, but at least he's no longer free and his family can try to move on.
Oh, well, that makes perfect sense. Hoping he'll not get a cell with no television and no internet access..no paper or pen..maybe a cot without blankets in a cell without lights..but that would be cruel and unusual.

Yes, His forgiveness is bigger than any sin. This one will have some time to explore it, if he chooses.
I would hope that he is provided an isolated padded cell not bigger that 6x6 that is equipped with a cot, toilet and a dull paring knife.........
