Stockholm, August 18: A waitress in Sweden thought her elderly customer was joking when he offered her his Porsche as a tip, but he kept his word and gave her the keys to the car, daily Aftonbladet reported on Thursday.
I thought at first he was joking with me, 19-year-old Josefin Justin told the paper.
Justin was waiting tables at the Njuraanger cafe in sundsvall in Central Sweden when the man, who had recently retired and was dining with a group of gentlemen, asked her age.
When she told him, he said I would get his Porsche as a tip.
At first I was a little suspicious but I didnt get the feeling he was hitting on me or anything, he just seemed really nice, she said.
She got his phone number and the next day when she called him, he said he remembered his generous offer. Accompanied by her father, she went to the mans house to pick up her new car.
It turned out to be 1979 Porsche 924 worth 4,000 dollars.
It needs a little work, a paint job among other things, but we checked it out and everything was fine, Justin said.
The man, who asked to remain anonymous, told the paper he could not really explain why he gave her the car.
I was just sitting there in the restaurant and looked her in the eyes and saw an angel and thought to myself the Porsche, she should have it, he said.
Asked if he had any regrets, he replied, no, absolutely not.
15 years ago you would have been right.
I'm getting old. I have an NSX, they still look, but only at the car.
The Porsche purist doesn't buy the car to attract girls. He buys the car to show off the girls he already has...
You are SO bad! LOL
You mean like these?
Let's see, he's got this faggot artist for a neighbor who has an insufferable dog, writes romance novels and has a phobia about sidewalk cracks, right?
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
[BLUSH]
Yep...... that's what I had been led to believe.
If you keep doing that, you'll go blind...[heh]
If I had the $$$ of Bill Gates, I'd give a waitress a brand new Caddy for a tip every night. Wouldn't that be fun?
I looked at a used 924 in the late 80s. Everything that I saw under the hood fairly screamed "This car overheats". I gave it a miss. Glad that I did.
Still, I hope that the young lady has a good time with whatever time on the road the thing has left.
Thats not bad, thats sick!
Well, the porsche is not that nice, either.
"So which silver would you drive,
Porsche, Ferrari or Bentley?"
I'll take one of each, thanks.... Oh, you meant the cars?
