I am just a dad that lost his son on 9/11. He was in the U.S. Navy Chief of Naval Operations office.
The following article was placed on www.fallenheroesmemorial.com twice but was modified to fit their agenda and then finally deleted.
"It is amazing that my original letter which, I will once again publish on this web page, was modified and misconstrued. (Politics?)
I wonder how many more items have been edited for political reasons. What a shame, people using your son's death for political gain! Shame on them.
Dear Mrs. Sheehan,
My son died in the Pentagon on September 11th 2001. He was never found. He was a husband and father of a two year old and a 10 month old. Did someone who had our best interests in mind kill him? Are you so willing to have your son's memory tarnished by such an ill-conceived view of the world? The evil mis-guided Muslims that are killing our people would just as soon kill you, (an infidel, according to them) as well as others that don't prescribe to the terrorist's convoluted ideas. They even kill other Muslims. The leaders of the terrorists tell their minions that they will go to heaven for their deeds. If this is so then why don't they want to blow themselves up. (They are the liars and Cowards)
My son was a proud member of the United States armed services as I am quite confident your son was also.
My son had commented on the fact that nothing was done when:
* The 1993 World Trade Center bombing took place.
* In 1995 the U.S. Military Complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was bombed.
* In 1996 Khobar Towers in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia were bombed.
* In 1998 U.S. Embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania are Bombed.
* In 2000 the USS Cole was bombed.
And then,
* In 2001 World Trade Center is destroyed and the Pentagon is attacked.
Many other attacks have occurred including attacks in Bali, the train attacks in Spain, the attacks in Turkey, the attacks in England just to mention a few.
My son was proud to serve under our President.
There have been many times that I wish I could have taken my sons place but I cant.
Our sons were there to try to defeat these evil ideologues. If we wont stand up for our country, then who?
I and many in my family served in the Armed Forces of our great country. It is an honorable tradition. Sure, I miss my son (he was the second son we lost) as I know you do, but please dont let your son or my son have died in vain.
We must take the fight to these terrorists rather than letting them choose when and where to mass murder our people.
God bless you and your family."
Thank you for your son's sacrifice for our country and for your service as well.
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt letter.
Welcome to Free Republic. God Bless America.
I'm sure your sons look down on you in pride. May God Bless their sacrifices and your family's.
I will keep you in prayer.
Welcome, you have come in exciting times.
Look forward to hearing your views and discussing with you.
And thank you for your patriotism that can see beyond the deep grief you feel to the noble cause in which we are now engaged.
You will be in my prayers, sir.
