It's 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 22. I just returned from Sacramento, Offices of Channel 10, where the Caravan made a stop to be interviewed. I don't know the numbers, but there were more people there supporting the Troops AND their Mission than against it. I met a young soldier there who impressed me deeply. He is home from Iraq on a 14-day leave and he was surprising his mom today, who showed up at the rally. She didn't know he was home yet. I asked him what I could do to support him while he was over there. He said, nodding his head at our group, "just what you're doing here." He tried, in vain, to explain to the anti-war protestors that what they were doing was hurting the morale of the troops. I don't think they were listening. They don't care about the troops, only the sounds of their own voices.
By the way, I got this young soldier's e-mail address while I was there and when I got home, I was ready to send him an e-mail and realized I had lost it. If you read this, and I know you participate in Free Republic, please send me your e-mail address again! Thanks! Beth in Winters (bethtopaz@yahoo.com)

I think we should get a good turnout in Fresno tonight. I'm getting excited!!!
Both soldier and mom are Freepers, Beth... I have addressed this to both of them as well... I wish I could have been there but his Mom called me to tell me... and he wanted to speak to me but I was at a place where I couldn't talk...
