What about low-cut/no show socks?
I would never wear socks with flip-flops, but I do wear low-cut ankle socks with my sandals.
I heard this was "acceptable" fashion-wise, then heard it wasn't. But, I keep doing it since I spent money on the things and don't want to wear them with only my man feet showing. But, if it is really bad, I will stop. There are entire websites devoted to making fun of people wearing socks with sandals!
What say you?
Flip-flops with socks was very "in" for soccer players in college a few years ago, both male and female. We would slide them on to walk back to our dormitories after doffing our cleats. The look kind of carried over to the general population and is absolutely accepted.
I still do it around the house or in the aforementioned treks to the beach.

I just think that sandals with socks of any kind look dorky any place else.
I dwell in Florida and the dorkiness of wearing socks with sandals is exceeded only by the ancient geezers who wear baggy Bermuda shorts and sandals with droopy black socks, LOL.
