Those of us of a certain age are cynical about marriage, especially us guys. It comes from seeing too many marriages broken and too many friends getting their bank accounts cleaned out, even though they were often not at fault.

My parents, thankfully, remain married after 33 years. They are the exception, however.

We seem about the same age. I just had a discussion with some friends about this same issue, that we're waiting longer because we're the first generation to really see the effects of wide spread divorce.

And my parents are still happily married after 33 years as well.

I would suggest that you change the type of people that you associate with.

I have been married to the same man for 47 years, and all of our children have been married for over 15 years and one for 23 years.

Tell the truth. There are enough women willing to have unmarried sex with all you men so you don't have make any committment whatsoever.
