Protesters Don't Find Many Welcome Mats (in Crawford)

Melissa Harrison thought she was just being neighborly when she let a group of antiwar activists hold a news conference on her property. Then her father, who lives just down the road, began calling her Hanoi Jane.

Harrison let the protesters have their news conference on her circle drive a week ago because she thought they should have an opportunity to present their views.

But by Tuesday, she said, she, too, was ready for them to leave. Her parents, Pete and Linda Martinka, had already fled their adjacent Lazy Czech Ranch and planned to spend several days on the road to get away from the Camp Casey scene. Harrison's husband, Vernon, an Army sergeant known to his friends as Dusty, said he would be glad to see the camp residents go.

"Property rights is what I'm having a big problem with," he said. "I've got these guys up here beating and banging on drums and guitars and making noise all hours of the night. There's nothing I can do."

Hmmm. It appears the guy who loaned his land to the squatters has never been married. He could be just the right kind of pumpkin head to get 'er done!

Maybe he's a pluckin head.

These folks don't really need any more opportunities considering most major news outlets are already doing their work for them ...

Ms. Shehan didn't create this publicity, the media did.

I love hippies!

What's red and orange and yellow and looks good on hippies?

I think Slim Whitman would be remedial. Remember Mars Attacks? That movie really cracked me up and wouldn't it be great if it had the same effect and their heads blew up? LOL

August has always been a slow month for news. It was either Sheenan, or the mating habits of the exploding Latin American toad.
Personally, I'd have chosen the toad. It sounds like an interesting story.

Mary Schneider's yodelling might even be better. Listen to the clip above if you can as she yodels a John Philip Sousa military march with lyrics that include "as he fights for freedom," and "gallant men, our heroes," and so forth. That would stick in their craw.

Heyyyyy! DUmmie thread....http://www.michaelmoore.com/mustread/index.php

We are moving to a place that doesn’t have much shade and I put out an appeal for tarps and a soldier from Ft. Hood brought some to us that he “borrowed” from Ft. Hood for us to use.

Isn't this government property being stolen for an Islamo facist support group? Heyyyy!!!

Take your word for it, mate, no problem. I was just complimenting our colleague on an excellent, if slightly evil, idea for making undesirables vacate private property w/o either the use of force or what passes for ''the law'', these days.

Cindy Sheehan has had a personal PR firm and person for almost a year. What do you mean that she didn't create this? She most certainly did!

Everybody knows the only thing that can really kill a hippie is Slayer music!

I think it's about time to start spraying for mosquitoes down there in Crawford....wouldn't want West Nile to flare up down there.

"I know hippies. I've hated them all my life. I've kept this town free of hippies on my own since I was five and a half. But I can't contain them on my own anymore. We have to do something -- FAST!"
