This article is poorly written. Early on it says that a man was arrested who claimed to have received a text message saying, "Cousin, we're freezing," and the authorities believe he was lying, and later in the article it states as fact that a man received a text message saying, "Cousin, we're freezing."

I agree. Even if the bodies were frozen at some point, I think they'd unfreeze in a hurry when the plane crashed and exploded. Have you ever tried to defrost a large piece of meat? Like a turkey?
It takes a long, long time.

Still not enough to freeze a human solid in an hour.

I agree.
the problem is the state "frozen solid", is not verified.
The plane crashed burned. What do we have frozen hot pop tarts??

"Unless of course the pilot depressurized the plane for a reason. I assume that can be done in a manual way by the pilot." Hmm nice theory, that would fit, the plane fills with toxic fumes from the AC, the pilot attempts to vent the gasses by depressurizing the plane.

Update Aug 16, 2005
ATHENS, Greece (AP) - Officials on Tuesday said they had found only the exterior container of the cockpit voice recorder from a Cypriot airliner crash that killed 121 people, hampering investigative efforts into the accident's cause.

Partially correct... As was explained later. Acclimation is the key. A gradual loss of Oxygen is tolerable to the body. A sudden decrease of Oxygen will cause you to pass out. Hence the struggle with atheletes competing in Boulder, CO when being used to competing in lower altitudes.
